  • The 65W simplecom seemed like a much better but for similar money though

    • +2

      Yeh but size

    • +3

the simplecom one is made by good-she. it is the same as the eruntu/heymix/… chargers

      ymmv

      • yea never buying a heymix product ever again. nothing ever works 100% on their stuff. 1 USB slot doesn't always seem to work full stop whatever it may be (I've tried and tested their GAN chargers, power strips, etc.)

I've also had one USB slot absolutely have a fit where it couldn't figure out what voltage/amperage it should be using and just kept flicking on and off.

I've only tried one Anker charger so far but it's been pretty rock solid with no issues.

Those generic chargers can always be found cheap, Anker is actually a decent brand.

  • Does this support super fast charging on samsung devices? can someone report back?

    • Looking at the previous deal it looks like it does

    • Yes using it for my S23+

  • -1

Nice quality but for a single device (most of the time for anyone) it's only a 20 watter.

  • +1

    GOOD deal

  • +1

Bought this a couple of months ago from previous deal. The usbc port died a couple of weeks in. Very unusual for anker products to fail like this.

    • For me the USB A port stopped working after few days.

    • Cant you claim warranty?

      • +1

Yeah. Did an Amazon return. Easy process.

    • so you reckon from your personal experience that this Anker 33W dual port charger is poor quality parts and/or quality control?
So no worse or better than run of mill kmart, target, officeworks sold iphone/android chargers? For similar coin ?
Anker just got a bit lucky to get a name out there in the competitive market.
I have a feeling that fruit company & search everything company branded chargers are using premium quality & lasts a lot longer than say Anker, Ravpower, Heymix, Gecko, Zyron, Cygnett etc etc

charger lab has a mostly comprehensive teardown analysis on wall chargers. nice to be informed about the nitty gritty.

    • I had an anker go intermittent, uncommon but these things do happen, and working in an office people are always borrowing chargers so who knows the cables it has seen. power indicator led would be handy then id know if its loose pin in power board or charger itself.

  • What's the best value power bank?

    • +1

I mappy with my Anker Powercore 10000mAh/36Wh model A1263 probably superceded now -
pocket sized 91x62x21mm fits comfortably in my pocket and 181gms not heavy in my pocket, and can recharge my iPhone for heavy use for a full day out and about when travelling - they say maybe 3 recharges of my iPhone - YMMV - I paid $30 a few years ago on special

  • This seems like a decent deal too if anyone is after Anker 65W option. Delivers that to a single device. These were $80 when I was looking a few days ago.

Personally would wait for the newer GanPrime Model, which has been around a similar price recently

      • That's an option, it's only 15 dollars more right now on Amazon.

What's the difference? Efficiency? Can't spot a difference in the specs and the form factor appears to be the same

          Copied paste from haz's comment:

          Power-allocation:
A2667 (Nano II 65W) has fixed power allocation for their ports. A2668 (GaNPrime) has an Intelligent power-allocation algorithm, that could automatically detect and adjusts the output of connected devices.

          Real-Time Protection:
A2668 has ActiveShield 2.0 which enhances protection by intelligent monitoring temperature and adjusting power output to safeguard your connected devices. The temperature is measured 35 times per second. According to the calculation of 8 hours of sleep at night, the temperature is measured more than 1 million times at night, which means 3 million times of monitoring throughout the day.

          Design:
A2668 is the industry's first to add two gallium nitrides inside, A2667 has a different chip and design but also has gallium nitrides inside.

          • @RichardL: So of those three things,

            1. Is useless, 3. Is subjective (im guessing its smaller?). Leaving 1. Being the only real improvement
            • @superroach: And also A2667 does not support 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0.

              I believe A2668 (GaNPrime) does.

Doesn't matter if you don't have the new Samsung Device.

    • depends on price …. they will both charge a phone. Seems some phones have specifics in how they handshake, probably to do with the PD version. Have an obscure name charger, causes ghost key strokes, yep seems happens to some android phones with some chargers or cable combos, but nobody seems to document why e.g dirty power from switch mode, etc. but out of the number of chargers I have it's not an issue, for me wattage is only an issue for charging laptop, phone I charge on lower power to keep battery cool.

    • Have you seen the Energizer one in stock anywhere?

      • I saw in one of my local Woolworths just couple of units and from memory were on clearance like for $10..
