Best Tablet under 10inch

I have for the last 10-11 years been using Asus Nexus 7 1st gen and second gen. So 6 months ago it finally died my gen 2. I bought a Lenovo Chromebook IdeaPad and it has been horrible so slow to react the tablet is also too big.

I want to use the tablet to read books, rarely modify an Excel sheet, web surfing, Netflix and Spotify while travelling.

I would prefer something that will age well and have ram/storage to be somewhat future proof. So I don't have to change tablet again for a while and go through the process of re-installing all my apps/settings.

Can you make any recommendations for me.

      I have the regular A7 - tbh it feels pretty laggy when using it.

      Not sure if that is partly my fault for only using it perhaps once a week - if used more often maybe it would feel more snappy as things wouldn't go to sleep.

    iPad is best, but the only iPad Apple sells new with a screen under 10 inches is the iPad mini. If you could move up to 10.2 inch you would have a lot more choice. If you want your tablet to last 10-11 years again then a new iPad is definitely the way to go. All your favourite Google apps are on the App Store too.

    I sold a [many years] old iPad for $80 (which was a bit less than it was actually worth, but mates rates) a while back and it’s still going strong - would be great for your what you want to use it for too

    Transferring/upgrading will be as simple as installing a backup onto the new device and everything will be there as it was

    Also second iPad, because not only the processor/ram choices give you the responsive user experience, if you pick a later model you will get os update support for a long time too.

    If you add up the cost of replacing an android based tablet every so often, they are not too expensive

    Agree with Ipad option. I still have ipad air 1 which was working okish till now.
    I will have no issues in replacing with another latest model of ipad which I believe will have another longer run.

    P.S: I am an android user, but I feel in the tablet market is difficult to pass by iPad
