I have a smaller house. Its just me, the wife and a dog that likes to shedd a fair lot of fur. All hardwood floors with a couple of rugs. Is it worth spending the extra for an auto emptying dock?

Why do you think this is not compatible with the dock later on? I thought you could just buy the auto empty and mop wash dock later on to connect?

I’ve removed the comment about the add-on dock. It’s seems that it may be compatible with the S8+ dock.
I found S7 at $749 (https://www.godfreys.com.au/roborock-s7-robot-vacuum-cleaner) and ended up buying that. Limited stock at this time. It has the option to get a dock in future, if we need it.
I hear the S8 is a bit of an upgrade over the S7, especially carpet performance with the higher suction power. S7 only has 2500 Pa whereas S8 is 6000 Pa, though S8 not a huge increase over the S7 MaxV with 5100 Pa.
