  • Why my quilt gotta have Hungarian white goose feathers

    • because it is non-china? isn't that the most important thing now?

      • because it is non-china?

They do have cooperation with China so be warned!

  • How cold would your bedroom need to be for this not to be too hot?

    • +1

I have 50:50 (not Hungarian) goose down doona and I find it too hot unless the bedroom temps are below 12°C, preferably lower, so I would guess that this might be sub - 9-10° at least (quite possibly lower due to the larger nature of the Hungarian down). Not many places would have indoor temps allowed to get into single digits I suspect.

The colder the climate (like Hungary, Siberia or northern Canada) that the geese live in generally the larger the down clusters and the greater the "fill-power" (700+). My pillow is 90:10 Hungarian goose down and it is like a big fat cloud - it is about 5cm thick when flattened (like in a suitcase) and closer to 25cm thick when fluffed up. I could imagine this doona being wonderful to sleep under if the bedroom temp was around 5°C.

It also obviously depends on how thick or heavy the doona is - if it is a lightweight thing, then it obviously wouldn't be as warm.

  • Features
    90% Hungarian goose down & 15% feather

    • Apologies, error in the description, it is 10% feathers.
      Thank You

  • I'd imagine this is pretty warm, I recently got a generic king duck down off ebay which was listed around $350 and rated as 4 blanket warmth. Above 10 degree might be a little too warm for it but it's great for anything below, had a few nights of -temps and slept like a baby.

  • I bought one 90/10 off Amazon. It had very strong odour even after airing for 2 weeks and the down comes out everywhere - same 410 thread count cover. It's good with Amazon that you can easily return within 30 days.

@Ron1977 what's the warmth rating of this quilt? Does it have above issues? What's your return policy?
