I purchased an item online for click and collect at JB Hi FI a few days ago. I paid partially with a JB e-gift card and the rest with an Ultimate Home Gift Card (Visa version). I ended up returning the item in store because I found it cheaper elsewhere.
When I returned the item I assumed they would refund the e-gift card immediately onto a physical gift card and the remaining amount would be transferred back on to the Ultimate Home Gift Card (which I kept because I read on a deal somewhere they can refund back onto those cards). But the guy in store said that I would get an email with another e-gift card instead. I still haven’t received the e-gift card and it’s been 3 business days. Has anyone done a return on an online click and collect purchase using a gift card. Is this usually how they refund a gift card?
You should get an e-mailed e-gift card almost immediately when the refund is put through the system. It does not take 3 days.
Something has gone wrong. Either incorrect e-mail or process along the way. Hopefully you got a printed refund receipt. Contact support first thing tomorrow.
