Looking for a Current "Phablet" Phone Ala Mi Max 2

Hi everyone!

I'm on the lookout for an Android 12-13 (w/updates) that has the same sort of specs as my current (Mi Max 2). Screen is huge. This is honestly the perfect mobile (for me), as it's 720 + 5300mah battery, so lasts days & days. It also has the base buttons on a section that isn't a part of the actual screen area. Dual stereo speakers, MSD slot, 3.5 jack. Don't care about NFC. I'm w/Boost.

Dimensions 174.1 x 88.7 x 7.6 mm (6.85 x 3.49 x 0.30 in)
Weight 211 g (7.44 oz)
Build Glass front (Gorilla Glass 3), aluminum back, aluminum frame
SIM Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM/ Micro-SIM, dual stand-by)

But the biggest feature to me is the screen size. Everything I see now is tall & skinny (height x width), which is so awful compared to the Mi Max. I can open a Google search and the font is large enough (w/o altering it) to read w/o glasses (timesaver!). Even now, running 7.1.1 it's still speedy on 4GB RAM. Alas, I'm starting to lose functionality due to age, even though the battery still lasts over three days, and I use it a LOT.

If you know of anything like this, that I will also be able to find a magnetic-close, billfold/card cover for, please reply.

Cheers!

:)

List of phones with displays larger than 6.8 inch

You really don't have much options other than foldables, phones are intentionally made skinny with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio (e.g iPhone 13 Pro, Galaxy S23 ultra, Pixel 7)

Wide phones are difficult to use one handed. And they get even wider when you put a case on them.

You might be looking at a Galaxy Z Fold5 if you want a large display that isn't "narrow".

Came to add almost the same comment. Foldable phones are probably your best bet for similar screen size with modern OS support, and even then you'd be most likely missing several of the features that you value in the Mi Max.

Best of luck with the search - GSMarena is a great resource :)

  • Mi max 3? I had it before

    • MM3 is still held to Android 10, though, yes? I wish they'd do a new version of it because it definitely suits a lot of people.

  • I hate how my Pixel 6 Pro is less wide than my Pixel 2 XL

It's disappointing there's no large 16x9 phones anymore.

Tried a guys Fold 5 at work today and it felt like it wanted to fall out of my hands all the time. Plus the plastic screen is ick.

Prefer my Mi Max 3 but it's a slug compared to the Samsung A73 I replaced it with.

    Such is life.

  • Yeah, won't pay for a stupid folding phone, which is basically a bunch of BS in a wrapper, just to get a phone with a decent-sized screen. At least I know it wasn't just me.

    Mi Max 2= PERFECTION

You could install an andriod 13 custom rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-official-13-pixel-exp…

    • Thanks for the link. I'd be hesitant until my MM2 is truly struggling, just due to the many issues people had trying to flash their phones.

    • Interested in the mini pro, but it's a tablet, not a phone. I carry my Mi Max 2 in my pocket. I don't care it takes two hands (I'm not that precious) to use.

But the alldocube 8" IS a tablet, no where near a phone.

I just cannot believe that Xiaomi doesn't keep making a popular phone. I see so many forums where people are begging for it….

      C'mon, Xiaomi! Mi Max 4!!!
