  • wouldn't touch OCZ after buying them previously

    • Was their warranty service any good?

      • Not too shabby, but dealing with BSOD trouble-shooting for the sake of faster speed is a problem i shouldn't have to deal with.

      • You would hope so, they've had plenty of practice.

    • I would agree that vertex 3 is a pretty bad choice for OSes. Vertex 4 however seemed to be well liked and stable for the most part.

The list of companies you won't be touching will be very long as so many release products with faults in a rush to market. Intel had to recall an entire chipset because of an unfixable sata failure causing bsod's or worse which is a bit more painful than a bsod you can fix with a simple update.

Wow, so you bought the whole company…

  • I've been running OCZ Agility 3 120gb for half a year, never had firmware problems. make sure you're running latest firmware and re-align the SSD AND use a proper OS migration software if you're planning on moving OS from HD to SSD.

  • Accidentally vote a +, how do you undo it?
MSY has this same drive for $89. For $99, should pick up an Intel instead.

    • Isn't that $89 for the agility 3? Different specs.

      • U r now, my mistake. MSY don't sell Vertex 3.

  • Do not buy Vertex 3! I've had two of them in the past and they both failed. One in 1 month and another after 6 months.

    Try a different brand folks.

There are reports of their failure rates being up to 33% (hardware/chipset), and their hardware failure rate is one of the highest in the SSD market. That sandforce chipset just doesn't play nice.
