http://www.skyscanner.com.au/ that website u provided is awesome. its gonna turn into my new ozbargain where i check every 5 min for a cheap flight
Many thanks Sean. I'll also be travelling to USA at the end of this month. I've not decided where to stay in Anaheim for a few nights so your valuable info on hotels and skyscanner is a great help to my ever-ending search for the best deals on flights and hotels.
Wow flights to LA just spiked $200 overnight, from $1150 to $1350 for March next year. Im flying 5 of us to LA then down to Mexico and that just made it another $1000.00. sure am annoyed I missed those expedia.ie La flights for like $850-$900 a couple of months ago. Oh well ill keep using Skyscanner and see what i can find over the next month.
Register a search with adioso.com.au also.
I had a look at skyscanner and while it found a cheap fare that I had booked a couple of days ago, it quoted a higher price from a reseller. I can get it at my original, cheaper price directly from the airline. So always double check the results any search engine gives you, you may get the same flight cheaper elsewhere.
I have been using this for airfare searches for a while http://matrix.itasoftware.com its a pretty decent search engine for airfares and you can fully configure it.
Hi,
We did Disney and Lego land September last year.
Howard Johnson is quite a good hotel, within a 5 minute walk of the main Disney gates and has a water park etc for the kids (not sure you'll need it if travelling in Feb March).
You can get 10-20% off Howard Johnson by going via the Mouse savers website.
Lego land was OK but the kids loved Disneyland. Lego land has much smaller rides, the queues were longer and there's more walking around and just looking rather than riding. You must get the crispy apple chips with whipped cream!!!!
Bare in mind that Legoland is quite a drive (1-2 hours from memory) from Anaheim. There are plenty of hire car companies within walking distance from Howard Johnson if that's going to be your base.
About.com has a special section on disneyland (http://disneytripplanner.specials.about.com/) which I found really helpful, it includes http://gocalifornia.about.com/cs/disneyland/a/distickets.htm which has info on tickets to disneyland (essentially they're almost impossible to get cheap :-(
Airfare wise, I compared stacks of providers via http://www.skyscanner.com.au/ and found it invaluable
In regards to accommodation (know you didn't ask, but maybe it will help!), see my post about zuji over the phone for accomm at http://www.bestwesternrafflesinn.com/ - their suites are all 2 bedroom and we'll be staying there, they seem very knowledgable and helpful too (I've skype phoned them @ 1am their time twice - very happy to talk!)
