Suggestion on Budget Bluetooth Option

I'm looking at a Bluetooth option for an Audi A3 2009 hatch - it currently has an Audi Symphony radio, but doesn't have Bluetooth.

I was initially looking at some budget radios to replace the unit, but found that I could potentially install a Bluetooth receiver. The main reason is I'll be docking an android tablet to my car in the near future, so I probably won't need the full capabilities of a high end radio (I assume).

I was using an FM transmitter but it's not as reliable; open to other suggestions!

Unfortunately from my cursory look online your car might not have an Aux port. Meaning a simple USB+Bluetooth receiver wont do it. Are you aware if your car as an Audi Music Interface (AMI) port? might be in the glovebox. in hwhich case you maybe can use something like this: AMI Wireless Bluetooth Music Adapter USB Cable Universal for Audi and Volkswagen

  • I used to have a Jabra Drive in my car without bluetooth. Not sure if something like that still exists, but it wasn't too bad for the occasional call.

  • I have a $5 ebay bluetooth to 3.5mm jack (AUX) adapter that works great - if you have aux input that's your cheapest (budget) option.

I also have one plugged into an old 1980's kenwood amplifier that we use outside for bonfires etc - instantly makes it a modern budget bluetooth receiver.

    Something like this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364211334823

  • I have an ol blueant unit and it sits on my visor and still works fine.

The new ones would be even more clearer
