Looks like Dell's got in trouble for overstating discounts. Have we been getting fooled by Jack all along with the Dell deals?

Damn he's already here lol
fines Dell unit $6.5 million
why fine? just ask Dell to hire more muzeeb in sales team.
That’s US$6.5M or $10M AUD
AUD
Great, now fine Lenovo for data-mining the sh*t out of their customers' devices without informed consent or the ability to opt-out.
At least Dell don't produce NSA-spec surveillance devices that also double as personal computers.
I'm curious to know how much Dell has benefited from this whole thing. Because it's kind of pointless to fine them $10 million if they made an extra, say, $50 million doing what they did.
An actual "punishment" would be if they got fined, say, double the additional profit they made on those sales.
From what I've read, they were fined the equivalent of like $1000 per unit sale.
Fines are based upon govt lawyers being useless and corporate lawyers being top notch.
If the fine is too much the corporation will take it to court (and all the pre-fuffle) and the corporate lawyers will absolutely eat the govt lawyers.
So, the fines are set at an amount that the guilty party will acutally pay without fighting it.
Sad really.
No way.
