Amazon US and UK Warehouses Cancelling All Orders

Hi Everyone,

Tbh I think this is more of a customer service rant. I have been trying to buy products from both Amazon US and UK but my orders continuously are being cancelled. I have contacted customer support who have just asked if I can try a different address which I did with no luck, then I was instructed to just try again in 48 hours. It has now been more than a week and the orders are still being cancelled. I have even tried different products from both the US and UK stores. In the mean time I have cancelled my prime and audible membership out of frustration.

Today I have tried again with the same outcome. In correspondence with the customer service rep they said "I'm sorry to say that there is an ongoing issue in fulfilling the orders placed from Amazon US and UK ware houses and the center is cancelling all the orders."

To me this is clearly a cop out as if true this would be a huge news story but I cannot find anything to support this claim. I have followed up with them to support this claim or to direct me to an announcement from Amazon confirming this but I only got this response. "I do agree that Amazon US and UK items on website should have this information of orders not being fulfilled for a while so that customers won't waste time in placing the order."

Has anyone else had a bad customer service experience with Amazon lately or any tips on how I could get this rectified?

I order frequently from Amazon US and UK stores via Amazon AU with no issues whatsoever. Even once from Amazon USA directly, as wasn't available via AU, but shipping fee sure was hefty. Still arrived fine. Now also ordering from Amazon JP via AU.

It might be an issue with your address or particular item(s) you are ordering.

    • Yeah I agree I think it may be something like this too, so I have tried different products, credit card and address (to my parents house) all of which have worked before and it still isn't working. I think it's likely something wrong with my Amazon account but the customer service reps seem to have given up on this.

    • The US items available on Amazon AU already have shipping and GST factored into them in most cases, so don't sweat the hefty shipping fees from the US.
Only thing we lose out is the cashback and Giftcard discounts for AU.

Was doing a lot of comparison lately for kitchen knife sets and found identical sets on Zon AU and US. Works out to be about the same price despite the so called "free" Prime shipping on AU.

However, there are items only available on US that are much better buys, so don't let the shipping deter you!

  • Maybe the item canโ€™t be imported easily to Australia and the Amazon system is showing it to you in error.

    • I think you might be right as the products I have tried have been the same brand. It might be they might have some sort of importer agreement.

      • Yeah if product has a licensee in Australia they shouldnโ€™t be selling it here in theory.
The Australian license owner will add their costs and profit margin. Which will make it cheaper in UK and USA due to the size of the markets.

        • That makes sense. In this case I hope Amazon will stop advertising the product as available to buy while on amazon.com.au. As it not only sets an unrealistically low price for the product it's just also super annoying having my orders continuously cancelled only to be told by Amazon to effectively try again until they give up and then just say all orders are being cancelled ๐Ÿ˜‚

          • @Peel: Another option is to use a forwarder, if the discount is significant enough.

            • @Stewardo: Yeah unfortunately it's only about $15 so not really worth it ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Create a new amazon account and try again.

      Trying that now. ๐Ÿ‘

        Same outcome ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

        • I just asked chat why the order has been cancelled with my new account. They said they have a shipping problem preventing some orders from the Global store. In return they have given me a $5 compensation. I received both a $5 and $10 voucher on my original account so now I have received a total of $20 worth in vouchers.

@Peel: Sounds like a new bargain incoming!

"$20 in Amazon vouchers for ordering this specific product from Amazon US/UK"

            • @the frost: Hypothetically if a bunch of people did this for the vouchers I wouldn't complain. ๐Ÿ˜€ Hell they might even fix what the actual problem is. Or at least geo restrict them. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I ordered an item last Thursday from the USA.

    Status
    Sunday 8PM
Package left the carrier facility.- Botany, AU

    • This seems to confirm my very obvious suspicion that the Amazon Us warehouse is not actually "cancelling all orders".

Without knowing what you've ordered, it's difficult to determine why they might be cancelling the orders. Given they're not just cancelling it for your existing account, my guess is that these are items that are not feasible to be shipped here. But rather than marking it to be removed from the Amazon AU store, Amazon US and UK has just been cancelling any orders for it.

Why not just assume as much and move on…

    • I'm trying to buy the Javelin Pro duo or Javelin PT12 thermometer with no colour preference. I've now thinking it's some sort of block due to not being an Aus distributer. It's just frustrating that Amazon doesn't have the customer service structure in place to actually provide a real reason for cancelling the orders and then removing it from Amazon AU and not just continually wasting customers time requesting I try again in X hours until claiming the warehouses is cancelling all orders. I'm just going to drop it now but I guess I needed to have a vent and see if anyone had a work around or suggestion that worked.

      • Could it be the name of the product? It wouldn't surprise me that as soon as customs see "Javelin" they'll go "Nope."

        • Yeah that might be it. Seems inline with Bangkok Problems comment too.

      • Is this for coffee? I just have the $16 one off Amazon

        • Nah originally I was wanting it mainly for cooking in particular meat. I didn't want to spend the money on a thermapen one but wanted something fast and reliable.

          • @Peel: The $16 one off Amazon I have is accurate.
I would also recommend Meater Plus.

            • @Stewardo: Have you found that the meater plus is more accurate then the $16 one as I don't want to spend $200 on a thermometer but also don't want to spend $16 on a cheap one if it isn't accurate and fast to take a reading.

              • @Peel: The $16 one I have is a Britor off Amazon. It works well easy to use.
The Meater + is a more advanced app based item which is more advanced.
                2 different things

Like everyone has said, you definitely jumped the gun on your forum title…

Also made multiple purchases from Amazon US and JP without any issues.

I would suggest you take a look through the probe thermometer tag and pick something that is available in Australia. Plenty of reviews from ozbers in there too.

    • Yeah I admit the title is definitely a dramatic but it was based on what the customer service rep told me ๐Ÿ˜‚. Thanks for the tag, I'm going to grab the inkbird as a result of some of the reviews ๐Ÿ‘

  • I recently had 2 orders from Amazon UK, and the fulfilment messed up both orders.

order A was a phone grip, I received a piano book (wtf?)
order B was a magnetic wallet, but received the phone grip from order A instead.

eventually got both orders refunded after contacting customer service.

How are your piano skills coming along?

I'm getting there, I'll announce my world tour soon, first stop will be UK, stay tuned!

    • I've pretty much given up on Amazon UK - over the last year I've placed 6 orders (via Amazon AU) and 5 of them resulted in the delivery of totally different products.
The sixth one never arrived at all.

Most recent example was an order for Bosch drill bits where they delivered a DVD of Wuthering Heights.

Amazon US has been fine every time for me though. Bought a couple of 20TB Ironwolf Pro HDDs recently and they had the best packaging I have seen for a long time.

  • Iโ€™ve had the same issue in the last 3 days. Amazon chat support said theyโ€™re having issues with US store items and asked me to try again in 48 hours.

  • Experiencing the same issue. Been ordering items from Amazon US for the past week only to be auto cancelled. Contacted support and they said this is a ongoing issue. Ive tried different accounts (prime and non-prime) aswell but orders still cancelling.

    • Yeah out of curiosity I tried the same item again yesterday only for it to be auto-cancelled again. If it was so painful going through the customer service chat it's a bit of an infinite money glitch with the vouchers they give out as compensation.

Yeah, already got 3 $5 coupons. On to the 4th. xd

        • Ordered the same item again today but this time i was successful (after 8+ cancelled orders). Maybe they resolved the issue now (for some)?
