What is the point of a sports drink without sugar?

    • +1

      mainly electrolytes need

    • +2

you need the electrolytes not the sugar. Hope this helps.

      • If you're exercising enough that you need electrolytes then you probably need sugar too. Otherwise you're probably better off just drinking water.

        • Not really, fats can act as "sugar" AKA energy.

  • damn, out of stock already

  • Y’all are proper too quick with the sports drinks 😂😂

  • cant see an expiry so I'm assuming not short dated

I saw best before date earlier, 3/10/23. Assuming this is the same lot.

    • Ty I couldn’t see it in its normal spot

      • Yeah, it's not there for some reason now.

  • Can't add to cart :(

Sugar free sports drinks completely defeats the purpose of the product. They're meant to replace electrolytes - which zero sugar has none of.

    • +1

@Mondorock Sugars are not electrolytes. Electrolytes are not sugars.

There are plenty of electrolyte products which have zero sugar.

Think potassium, magnesium, sodium ions. Probably other stuff too that I can't think of off the top of my head.

It still gives you no energy.

        • +1

Possibly, just possibly, why Gatorade doesn't call it an Energy Drink.

Would you like to keep digging?

@rumblytangara: They don't call it an energy drink because it was invented in the 60s and energy drinks didn't exist then. But for all intents and purposes that's what it is. Further, the Wikipedia page says it was originally created to replenish carbohydrates.

              Mr Face, meet Mr Palm.

Hint: This is not an energy drink.

Sorry but my comment still stands. The drink gives you no energy which defeats the purpose.

        • +1

The purpose is hydration and increasing electrolytes. If I wanted energy, then I would have a Berocca or Red Bull

        • -1

you said it doesn't have electrolytes you dumbass

    Back in stock

    • Yep. Managed to order some just now

    • Damn sold out again

  • I grabbed the electrolyte tablets from Aldi, they’re 20 for ~$7. You gotta use 2 per serving

    • any good? seen people talking about them on my last powerade post

      • that's where I saw it, so I gave it try. It's been good so far and cheap. I use it after my workouts and it's been effective for me.
