      Sydney Zoo is a fully private Zoo.
      (It is NOT Government-owned Taronga Zoo, btw.)
      
      Run by the same family as owns the Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour.
      
      They charge what they can get away with.

        @cherylhinten: It is a fairly typical annual pass upsell pricing structure, a pass is like $70 which isn’t much more than a day ticket. TBH it’s pretty good value if you live within a reasonable distance and can go a few times. But it really disincentivises just going once to check it out
