  I bought a couple as separates previously. I find that I don't really like self adjusting spanners, they seem more of a hindrance than regular ones

    That seems to be the consensus all round and every test I've seen bears that out. These are likely aimed at a niche use case where compactness/lightness is more important than anything else.
