Hey I'm looking for a new computer with a budget around $1500 and my requirements are that it is i7/ryzen7, 16gb ram and a dedicated GPU such as those cheap 2gb vram GPUs or possibly an etc 3050/4050. The laptop will be mostly used for school work and soon uni so it needs to have a good battery life while also be powerful enough for some light occasional gaming.
If anyone has any recommendations I'll be glad to check them out but must not be integrated or Intel GPU.

My Intel GPU works perfectly fine for occasional gaming…
What games are you playing OP? Iris Xe graphics may get the job done if you're not playing anything too intensive
iGPUs aren't as crappy as they used to be
Macbook an option? The GPU in those things is pretty good. Ticks the boxes on power and battery life too.
Something will probably need to give with that spec sheet and price, gaming laptops and battery life tend not to go hand in hand. The Vostra 7620 ticks most of the boxes (currently on clearance for just under $1,500, although it has been cheaper) but won't give great battery life. Although there's always the option of carrying around a chunky 65W/100W power bank.
why not?
