Air Duster or Leaf Blower to Clean Dust Off PC?

I used to use air compressor at work but I don't work there anymore.

Example of air duster @ $44.99 from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com.au/Mcbazel-Adjustment-43000-51000RPM-…

This is the cheapest leaf blower @ $39 from Bunnings:
https://www.bunnings.com.au/xu1-2400w-corded-blower-vac-mulc…

YouTube and TikTok algorithm recommended me this DataVac @ $219 from PC Case Gear but it's obviously very pricy:

Has anyone used any of the above and willing to share your experience?
Thank you 🙇‍♀️

Just buy a can of compressed air.

  • Leafblower is overkill.

I use this electric air duster. Great for PC, keyboards

    • I saw that lightning deal too!
I am thinking leaf blower because it's the cheapest of them all (and hopefully strong enough to blow the dust).

I worry a leaf blower might be too powerful.

A soft brush is a must. Take off as many PC panels as you can.

    I did a lot of research and finally got X-Power B-53. https://www.xpoweraustralia.com.au/xpower-550-watt-multipurp…
    Don't buy https://www.xpoweraustralia.com.au/xpower-a-2-airrow-550-wat…
It is essential the same thing. I sent an email to ask for differences. They said only colours are different.

Thank you for contacting us. A-2 & B-53 are the same, they are just marketed to different industries and B-53 is available in different colors then A-2. That is the only difference between the two.
I hope this helps. Have a great day!
    Best Regards,

DataVac is 3 times more expesnive. I would not spend that much money. My budget was just around $100.
You can also read through this https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/z4rvys/what_is_th…

I think the official site is the cheapest, if you find somewhere cheaper, go for it. I know catch, kogan they all sell it.

It is really powerful than I expect, portable and solid built. Won't regret.

    • Haven't seen that before! Looks exactly like DataVac but for pets! And cheaper!
Cheers for the explanation and suggestion!

EDIT: It's actually better than DataVac! (500W+70CFM) vs XPOWER (550W+90CFM)

Can you just use your hair dryer then? Some hair dryers have cold settings.

    +1 for the xpower

Opolar or similar for lighter use

Stanley air comp + attachment for cases.

    These are pretty good

Damn, $849 😂 I could replace all the dusty parts with new ones.

I got my ego blower for free.

  • Cover with plastic etc when not in use?

  • Take pc down to local servo with older style manual air gun make sure covers are off, blow out with air no cost

  • Leaf blower could ruin any fans you don't take out and put pressure on components, I wouldn't do that. It's also not filtered, you'll be blowing bits of dust and whatever at high speed into your computer. It'd probably be fine, but IMO things could go wrong there.

On the flip side, a video of a really dusty PC being hit with a leaf blower would probably garner a few youtube clicks, so you might make your money back that way.

    $19
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-240v-440l-min-flow-high-vo…

I use this, it pushes out a lot of air and you can DIY modify the nozzles easily if you need higher pressure

    • This looks like the cheapest option, so I would try this first. Looks like it should do the job.
As you have noted, if you require higher air velocity, just block the nozzle some to reduce the opening, which will build up more pressure. May cause it to run hotter, so don't use it for too long.

    Vacuum cleaner with brush attachment?
Or used 240v air compressor from eBay, marketplace, etc…

I've got this one and really really good. Suction is very portable especially having 2 little ones who eat at car.

Beg for your job back at your old workplace, and use their compressor after you are rehired.

    • This makes the most sense. Cheers

  • If u have the cash this is an awesome blower: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/36730/metrovac-datavac-e…
