helps to build strength and endurance

Only if you've had a stroke or a traumatic brain injury and you want to activate muscles that are barely working. It's hardly going to help to build strength and endurance for an able bodied person who can comfortably contract their muscles against gravity.

no no, let the snake oil salesman speak.

    • While it won't build muscle, it does apparently aid recovery but not any better than other recovery exercises and stretching

      • Yup, TENS are designed for muscle stimulation when undertaking active recovery, like myofascial release therapy, massage, stretching, etc. Can be good when used to numb some minor nerve pain too. Just a tool in the toolkit. That said, it is a good price for V2 Duo ~$214. Useful after heavy legs day….

Yep that's what squat university said. Personally it sounds like extra hassle so I stick to the usual methods

          • @reactor-au: Thanks reactor, I agree its not for everyone. However we have a winning price for those that want it

Thanks for the Google Search link. Google recommended this great review from a user of the product.

You are Paying for Complication and Not Performance.

Reasons why I give PowerDot a poor rating:

          1. Way too complicated to use. There appear to be 36 workouts under the "Wellness" category alone. Multiply that by "Performance", "Smart Pain Relief", "Smart Recovery," "Period Pain Relief" and "Focus On," and you have a few hundred options to choose from. You have to go though a lot of menus.

          2. Limited and Complicated TENs unit. Tech support told me that TENs is not a main function of the unit. You can't control frequency or amplitude like with a simple much cheaper device. And finding the TENs programs is an extensive journey. You have to chose a program, the part of the body, whether pain in chronic acute, muscle pain, fracture pain. And then you have to go through a few more menus before you use it. Again, way too complicated.

          3. Snaps are a little hard to use. This is a small niggle, but if the device detaches from the pad in a hard to reach area, getting the battery unit back on can be a bit difficult.

          4. Data privacy: You have to create an account to use the devices, and PowerDot knows everything you do with the unit, and asks for you input all the time. They take and use this information. It's hard to tell what they do with this information, but it's reasonable to assume that they sell your information to others.

The App is the Only thing that makes this unit any different from much simpler and cheaper units. And the App simply make something simple so complicated.

In short, this is a simple electrical device that has been overly complicated. It's like having a toaster that you can't control with the device itself but only through an app on your phone that requires you to go through umpteen menus to use.

          • @alvian: Its had over 2000 reviews at 4.5 and you post the above? How about this one?

t is a very impressive gadget. The smartphone app removes the guesswork on the pad placement, intensity and duration. One of my favourite functions is the smart device. Once I link my Garmin app, the powerdot app learns my activities and provides customized recovery programs to help me recover faster, more effectively, and relieve any pain. Ideally, purchase the dual pad to maximize time and the other features. The only downside is the cost; the electrode pads must be replaced after 22 uses. But, as they say, good quality comes with a price. Most notable is the prompt and excellent customer service. Overall I recommend it.

            • @Fab2022: The quote is what YOUR lazy Google Search link presented to me. I did not choose the Google Search link and I have no control over the review that was recommended to me.

              • @alvian: thanks for the feedback Im on my P Plates.
