Budget Travel (Vacation) Ideas within AU under $1000 for 2 persons

Hello Friends,

We have started planning our vacation for a long weekend (around Labour Day 1st Oct).
We are in Sydney. Most of you might have also booked / planned the vacation around that long weekend :)
Seen any nice flight / package deal around?
