Anybody know of a good tailor for mens suits?
As for bargain shopping all I know of is MBK, what else is worth checking out for both fake and real stuff (clothes electronics etc)
Also anybody post stuff from BKK back to Aust?

Manhattan tailor in Sukhumvit - www.manhattancustomtailor.com
My wife posted about Manhattan tailors in Sukhumvit near the Swiss Park Hotel. I recommend it.
In Dec 2010 - A street hawker said .. try the tailor .. not Indians - Thai people … keen to get a good suit .. we went to check it out being that I know Thai's make good suits.
We were introduced to Mr Nath - who oddly appeared to be Indian. Anyway .. he show a lot of styles, and letters from people who'd shopped there.
I guess I was sold by the recommendation of an English guy who was back to get more suits.
Originally I was going to get one suit .. I walked out with 2 suits with 2 pairs of pants each, and 6 business shirts - total about AUD$700. The shirts were $20 each .. There were also high quality suits - still wearing them now 18 months later. The shirts are a little worn now but that's from 18 months constant wear - so that's pretty good.
I'm thinking about ordering via email another few shirts now I've lost weight. :)
There were several fitting for the suits - so that was pretty good and they were always very nice. The suits were nicely lined too.
It's worth spending a few extra dollars to get a better quality suit.
Always grab a few drink from them whenever you drop in.
The only problem with the place was they keep offering more and more deals ..
So I had to say no .. just the shirts and the suits.
Next visit to the Thailand I'll go again.
Feel free to email me if you've got anymore questions.
thanks might check it out, word a mouth still best way to find good tailor.
hey Tonster,
Couple people at work have told me about this one.
what was your experince like?
Be warned with some tailors that they can be quite pushy with deals.
Make sure you know what you want from a suit as it will make it a lot easier for the fittings and make sure to get fitted at least 3 times; no matter if they push that it fits.
I shop at platinum for youth wear, no much bargaining to be done but prices are good and discounts for bulk purchases.
a song tailor is supposed to be good.
for junk, there's a big market close to a skytrain stop. after a quick google, i think it is called chatuchak market
for electronics there is pantip plaza. it used to sell pirated stuff. i'm not sure what the situation is nowadays
