Budget Bluetooth Keyboard for Office

Hi all,

Can you tell me of a good budget keyboard for the office? My current keyboard in the office is laggy and is hard to type on. I want to grab a cheap but reliable keyboard to use in the office. My budget will be less than $50. I will prefer wireless. I was looking at HP or Razer or Logitech. Any recommendations? Thanks

      • I prefer the Big W Anko to the Kmart version.

        • i used to be the same but my local bigw is now such a dive.

the former plant/garden section has been totally abandoned and turned into a clearance section
stock holding has been reduced heaps and spread out so everything looks really sparse
theres only ever 1-2 manned checkouts now , and at least 3 of the self checkout machines are always out of order
compared to kmart the store lighting also seems really dull.

@Jimothy Wongingtons: Last time I went to Kmart, there were absolutely zero staff at the any of the checkouts…

Waited about two minutes for somebody to wander by…

            Customer service is dead.

        • ANKO is an exclusive Kmart brand name. Nothing to do with BigW

The cheap Rapoo keyboards from Aliexpress / Amazon will get the job done for under $50.

The Logitech K380 is also under $50 on Amazon atm. It goes for as low as $39

I do strongly recommend a Logitech MX Keys (either mini or full size) as they're one of the best membrane KB's you can get, but they start at $100+.

    • Great. I will try rapoo. The mx keys are great. I had those before. I lost a couple of keys from too much typing. I want something cheap and dirty now

How do you define "too much?"

  • kmart wireless mechanical

  • Logitech MK270R keyboard and mouse combo currently reduced to $37.

    • Brilliant

      • Yeah these are cheap, cheerful, and do a solid job. Our "standard order" in the office, but just be aware that the mouse is pretty small. That may not bother you, but I prefer something a bit bigger so I bring my own.

    • Do you know if this is compatible with Chromecast?

  • Keep an alert out on Camelx3 for logitech keyboards. I bought 3 K780s when they were $28 each as I really love it as a keyboard.

I wouldn't buy anything besides Logitech for a good experience and reliability now that Microsoft is exiting the market.

    • Good point. Il do that. Does camelcamel have an app?

I recommend not going with something dependent on bluetooth if you can help it. Bluetooth wont make your lag issues better.

I just purchased a logitech-mk270r for a client that needed a kb/mouse in a hurry. Its the cheapest logitech setup that doesn't have an awful keyboard. (its not good, just not awful)

Its on all the usual marketplaces too, possibly cheaper if you dont have a Umart nearby.

    • I'll do that. Thanks mate. I don't want to break the budget as it'll only be for work. I would rather pay for a good keyboard than work on my crappy keyboard that the office has.

  • hwhy Wireless

    • Wireless so I can move it around. I can go wired as well

      • Ok best of luck on your search. Others have made good suggestions: the MK270 is a solid choice, i hate the feel of the K380 but have it myself as a backup bluetooth KB. The Microsoft Keyboards used to be decent, now they're very design focused and i dont rate em as highly

I think the mk 270 ork380 are my go to choice. Pity the Microsoft keyboard have gone more design focused

  • Dell KB500 is perfectly fine, can get it for $40.

    • I have the dell for work and it lags. I'm not sure which model number it is though

      • I have the Dell and it doesnt lag at all. So either you are typing at 800wpm or its something in your set up, not the keyboard. Which means buying a new keyboard wont solve the problem…

        • You might be right. It might be the setup. I'll try changing the dongle socket and see.

  • This one is wireless and cheap.

    • Appreciate. 🤣

  • Update:I bought a 38$ hp keyboard and that just rocks. It's better than more expensive keyboards I had. I used the mx keys and seriously the hp keyboard beats it. The hp keys are soft and easy to type on and near silent. Brilliant value.

Glad to hear that you are happy with your purchase. Fingers crossed, it will continue working for a long time.

I've had a Compaq keyboard I was very, very happy with and used it for more than 20 years. I even went into the trouble of buying motherboards with PS/2 connectors when upgrading my systems so that I could keep using the keyboard. That one was a bundled keyboard that came with some beefy dual CPU corporate workstations back in the '90s.

      • I know those. Yes I wish it'll work for long. I didn't want to break my budget for this one and seriously the hp 300 deserves 5 stars
