Edreams or Enightmare Debacle. What a Mess.

So I should have know before to book via eDREAMS

Their contact is almost unreachable- they use a 24/7 chat system- which isnt very useful.
Then to contact a phone number almost impossible to find the number but this is it if anyone else has the problem

So I booked a flight with the flexible option (change flight up to 24hrs)- my issue is I make a app booking to change the flight at 11am- for $120- i was happy to pay the difference/service charge and agreed to it and clicked agree on their app.

They are based in barcelona- so it is their sleep time so they tell me now 6hrs later it has gone up to $500- so basically they claim to be 24/7 but then any change is delayed like 6 hrs which means if it is a last minute change then the cost will skyrocket.

When i finally got through to them - they stated because you are making a change within 24hrs (that is the new flight) then they will now not honour the flexible guarantee policy- but on their actual policy it does state
"The rebooking must be made no later than 24 hours before the departure time and date of the original
outbound flight. If you rebook your ticket later than this, the Flexible Travel Dates Guarantee will not apply"

So it has to be 24hrs of the ORIGINAL outbound flight- so seems like the customer rep doesnt even know their own policy ><

adiit forgot to mention
their number is
1300 070 954 (you cannot find this on their website

Well anyway best to book via jetstar or virgin for a few bucks extra…

It's never best to book via Jetstar.

    • with jetstar it is instant confirmation and you can change up to 2hrs prior checkin- jetstar may not be good but edreams is much worse

These cheaper then usual online travel agencies are probably ok if your flight is departing soon and you 110% do not need to make any changes. If you ever want to make any changes then that is when you get into trouble.

    • most people think theydont need to book- but to save $10 they go thru edreams or etrash or wateva…not worth it if you think you may even slightest have to change

Booking a budget airline through a budget agency. What can go wrong?

Make sure you exclusively usem the travel insurance on your credit card ,

  • I had a flight booked with ANA via MyTrip before COVID hit and everything went to the ground. I gave MyTrip 3 months from my initial request for a refund (+ 3 calls where they never picked up the phone) before I got fed up with their lack of response and pulled them through the AMEX chargeback process.

And somehow, they magically found the time to respond to that so they could rebut my chargeback! I ended up calling ANA directly and they sent me an email confirming they had refunded the fare to MyTrip 2 months ago. I used this to get the chargeback sorted once and for all.

tl;dr Book with the airlines directly in future to avoid headaches. For now, if you can provide documentation proving what you have said (the response to your inquiry vs the actual policy) you may have a case for a chargeback.
