  • Just got Android 13 last week.

For the price ($220 a few months ago), I'm very happy with it.

    • Great price mate, glad you are enjoying it. Any issues with lag?

      • +3

4GB will lag, no matter the processor.

Kind of amazing that mobile devices need so much ram as a minimum now

Apps take a few seconds to load but once you're in the app, it's fine.

        Great stereo speakers.

        • You read magazines/books on this? Any good or is there lag between pages? - wanna decommission my kobo arc 7hd. What about media playback, can you connect to a monitor via hdmi? Is there Bluetooth?

          • +1

@cobknob: I read comics. They look good to me. No lag between pages.
I know you can connect to a portable usb-c monitor.

        • Thanks mate.

    • how did you get/install Android 13??..

      • +2

        Updated itself overnight.

Or go to Settings > Update

        • interesting.. one minor update for 12, that's all ..

  • Got 2 of these for the kids since release. Do a great job for what they use and im less concerned than if they had iPads at more than twice the price. Runs Minecraft better than the switch (that’s not saying much though). Mainstream streaming apps and kids games run well and screen and sound good.

My biggest issue is the swipe up function when trying to switch / close apps. Due to how close the motion is required to start to the edge of device it Takes a few tries and with a case it’s even worse. Kids don’t notice or care though.

    • I find switching and closing apps annoyingly difficult on iPads for the same reason. It usually takes a few attempts at swiping up for me to get it to work.

    • It sounds to me your technique might be bad.

Start from the bezel. Swift single finger flick up and off the screen to close.
Single finger slide up and raise to open app switching.

  • Hi OP, have you seen any portable monitors for sale? thx

  • This is now showing as $389

    • Yep, must be sold out.
