Victorian Energy Upgrades Companies

Does anyone have any recommendation for one of the authorised companies for Victorian energy upgrades?

I'm going to contact one next week to get the free exhaust fan seals and potentially LED upgrades as I have a constant flow of air coming in through each of mine however seems like reviews of these companies vary a lot.

I'm considering using the VEU for an upgrade of a reverse cycle air conditioner as well as mine is 10+ years old, I'm not sure if these companies can complete all these upgrades or if I need to use different companies for each one.

  • Sounds like you have the light fittings that allow the globe to gimbal. For free they'll just replace the halogen globes with LED globes and you'll still have air flowing around them. You need to upgrade the entire fitting which involves an electrician fitting a surface mount plug.

    • Sorry didn’t write that out very clearly, the airflow is coming through the exhaust fan not the lighting

Just wait a few weeks. They will knock on your door soon. I live out of town in regional Vic and they even visit my place. They never get out of their car though when my 4 dogs surround their car 🙂

    • I don’t have direct access to my front door from the street so no chance of this happening, I’m sure they’ll annoy me with calls once I reach out to them

    • 4 dogs will do a good job at keeping them at bay!

Free LEDs are no longer on offer, no free aircons available either - only discounted.

For FanSeals / weatherseals just picky any company they are all similar.

    • Thanks for the heads up about LEDs I thought they still were.

Have your used the scheme for air cons? I'm wondering how straight forward it is and if the discount is worth the hassle of purchasing myself and organising installation? I can imagine they just price their quote so highly it has practically no discount

      • Aircons will only be discounted, if you are removing your old ducted heating. I would not do that to be honest, I have, however got one installed under SolarVIC, where it was discounted by $1k. But that program has ended as well.

        • I have 2 single splits I’m looking at replacing as they’re both 10-15 years old. If it’s a solid discount I’ll look into it, wasn’t expecting to get it for free. It seems quite vague on what discounts are offered on them now

        • Not much discount after the government approved suppliers jack up the price. Then they do such a poor quality job you'd have been better off paying cash to someone from facebook marketplace to do the job.
