  • Anyone know what happens if you already own the standard edition of Assetto Corsa on Steam and try to redeem a key from Humble? I know Steam won't let you buy the ultimate edition if you already own the standard, but what happens if you buy it elsewhere like this and try to redeem?

    • +2

Yes actually, I just did this last week. Steam just upgrades your AC vanilla version to ultimate edition !

AC is soo bloody good with mods.

      • +1

Brilliant! Will grab this tonight, thanks.

      • "bloody good" to describe it isn't enough

      • I've heard the before, just curious what kind of mods you're referring to?

    • Humble provide you individual keys to redeem on Steam. So even if you had the game listed in the package, you simply need not redeem that individual key and just do so for the others not in your library.

  • +3

A great deal, but a repeat of the same bundle they've had available multiple times over the years. Worth a look if you don't already have these games.

    • +1

Not sure why someone disagreed with you. Did they disagree that it was a great deal and worth a look (provided one doesn't already have the games), or that this is a repeated bundle, or both? Neither of those statements seems particularly controversial, it's either just an opinion or an objective statement that I'm assuming is true. I feel like they got tripped up by the choice of wording with "but" and thought you were angrily trying to detract merit from this post.

      • Yeah, could potentially have worded it better, but no biggie. It is a great deal, but it's a shame they don't mix their deals up every so often - almost all people who are a fan of racing sims and use Humble Bundle will have this deal already by now. It would have been nice to see them swap out a few of the games to keep it a little fresher, but maybe that'll come in time.

  • Already got AC Ultimate, don't know if I'd be interested in the others.

    • +2

A great all rounder AC. I've got the lot so easy break down.

ACC is the best if you like GT3 cars. Simple as that.
AMS 2 is honestly my favourite these days, has the best graphics our of the box and continues to get better by the month. Absolutely worth a look, I honestly bounce between AC and AMS2, but feel AMS2 is kinda just the modern, easier to set up out of the box version.

Those two are certainly worth consideration!
R factor 2 is amazing when set up, but its a pain. But with Direct Drive, (VR if you have it) a GTE or LMP car at sebring is one of the great experiences in sim racing.

    • Never could get into AC, I think it's worth giving ams2 a go, try the demo first though. It's only one track and a golf or whatever it was but it'll give you a rough idea of the difference between AC and ams2.

I enjoyed ACC too but after I got ams2 I rarely load up ACC.

  • Would these be fun if I only play racing games like Gran Turismo 7 and Forza Horizon 5? Do they have a campaign/single player or are they truly hardcore driving simulators (I didn't like Project Cars 1)?

    • +5

Besides NASCAR and DRIFT they are all very much hardcore driving sims. No point playing any of them without a proper wheel and pedals (IMHO)

      • +1

What would be a prober wheel/pedals setup? Are they like truly like driving a car after setup? I remember had the Logitech g29 12 years ago and it felt super fake.

        • Nothing will ever feel truly real even if you spend like 100K on a hydraulic pedals, a high end DD wheel, a motion rig etc.

    • You’d definitely like these games, handling difficulty and ease of access IMHO they are similar to GT7 or Forza. I didn’t like Project Cars either.

They don’t have campaigns, but factor in the price. Even if you turn a few laps in each every so often in your fave tracks/cars the bundle is way worth it at this price.

      Others may disagree :)

    • AC, ACC and ams2 is completely different to horizon 5. Neither have extensive story modes either so if that's what you like then these arent the games for you. These are only if you want to pick a car, pick a track and drive.

Not sure how they handle with controllers either as they're made to be played with a wheel.

  • Decent bundle! Just bought AC UE last month but the bundle is still worth it and slight contribution to charity :) Didn't realise AMS2 takes >100gb

    • It's worth it

  • Broom broom! Beep beep!

  • Probably should update the title to say Ultimate Racing Sim Bundle.

  • Purchased just for AMS and AMS2. Already have AC, ACC2, RF2 and don't care too much about the other games.

Idea: I can set up a 2nd Steam account with the second lot of AC, ACC2, RF2 on another sim rig so when friends are over we can race one another.

Edit: I think this could be achieved using Steam Family Sharing as well? Okay nope, games can only be played on one account at any instance when using family sharing..

    • Would you be so kind as to share the rf2 key? I have all the other titles already!

      • Unfortunately, I've already redeemed it on the 2nd account

  • +1

Anyone after an AC Ultimate Edition key? I already own it and purchased the bundle so have one to giveaway.

    • If you still have the key would be appreciated

  • +1

I've got a AC Ultimate and AMS2 to give out. Just hola. First come first serve.

    • I have not heard from @zander43. So I would appreciate these both @Szemen

      • +1

        Sent!

        • Thank you @Szemen, very much appreciated

  • If anyone would like an Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition key, let me know.

  • I miss it when you could just pay what u wanted :/
