Ok this week it's my turn to post a mattress thread. I'm looking at setting up my spare room for medium term subletting. I'm going to set it up with a bed and a desk so I'm looking for a double size mattress around the $500 mark. I want it cheap but also good enough that a person could sleep on it every night comfortably. If it only lasts a year or two that's fine it just needs to be comfortable for at least a year.

Comments
Unfortunately I will be marketing the room to non-crackheads. It's a nice place I'm in and I'll be pricing the room on the upper end of the market so has to be somewhat decent.
Throw a Sheridan cover set on it, Boom hotel spec unlocked.
Haha! Sheridan or Sheridan Outlet?
ZZZAtelier for sure
Recent ZZZAtelier posts have had quite a few negs from recent purchasers, you'll have a few positive comments along the lines of "Had one for years, they're great!", then the rest will be "bought one 6 months ago and it sagged within weeks". Seems like theres been a big drop off in quality.
Interesting. I've had mine (King) now for about 14 months. No noticeable sag and still the best mattress I've ever slept on, not that I've ever had an expensive one!
My previous was an Ikea VESTERÖY and certainly had noticeable sag in the middle after 6 months.
Good to know, which option did you go for?
@Cheaplikethebird: get the extra firm one so it would last for years
I concur. I bought one of these a few years ago for myself and it has been great and still going strong. I bought one for my son a bit later and his has a big sag in the middle
No double size :(
Yes comes in single, king single, double and Queen
I recently purchased a second hand Eva mattress (less than 12 months old - no stains) for the guest room.
Super comfy mattress..Good idea, I'll keep an eye out on marketplace.
