This is not your average Bali road side seller of $20 Rolex knockoffs
This is a supposed well known shop, with years of trading, shopfront in prime sydney
They even advertise money back guarantees/refunds if you suspect that are fake

according to ACA they were told they would reopen yesterday at 10am, after closing Saturday, did they reopen?
I nor my family and friends are into branded handbags, however its fascinating how this will play out?

I wouldn't buy from COSETTE. You only have to see how good the fakes on offer are in Shenzhen to appreciate how people can be easily duped.

They even advertise money back guarantees/refunds if you suspect that are fake.

    And they've provided refunds.

    • Considering that the original 'luxury' products are not even made well, it's not hard to see how fakes can be just as good (or better) than the originals.

Look at something more complicated like a watch. There are A1 fake Rolex's out there that are pretty much identical in every way. And these are a million times more complicated than a piece of crappy leather fabric with a pattern on it.

Your second paragraph contradicts your first.

It's like you're spoiling for an argument?

          Nope.

I wish we could flair user profiles, I remember you for being a troll.

If you are going to spend that much money on something, at least go to the original brand store and get ripped off from them directly.

I reckon they probably thought they'd get away with adding a couple of fakes among genuine products. I'm guessing the profit of a fake must have been huge for them. 1 person getting a fake certificate was probably fine to deal with - could be explained as genuine error. Only when people cottoned on to them selling fakes and banded up did things go south. Also, I'm obviously not the market, but those are some ugly hand bags and belts going for a couple k each.

Thing is, how do these businesses even get their hands on the branded goods (if real)? I always thought these designer brands always sell their goods in their store only and never anywhere else. If I ever see a LV, Gucci, Fendi or whatever brand not in their own branded store, I automatically assume fake.

I understand stores that sell second hand designer stuff, and even then you don't know if they're fake or not.

So you never buy Levi's jeans at Myer, Mimco at David Jones, Apple at JB HiFi or Kitchenaid at the Good Guys?

      • +1

None of those brands you listed are in the same category as LV, Gucci et al i.e you're comparing apples with oranges.

        • -2

Ok, what about Hermes, Christian Louboutin or YSL from David Jones? Does that suit the brand snobbery better? Enough Oranges (or apples)?

@[Deactivated]: Those are actually concession stores run by the label themselves. They supply the stock to DJs.

            Source: ex-DJs employee.

            • @kerfuffle:

They supply the stock to DJs.

So they are genuine, which is my point. You can by genuine from a reseller store.

              • @[Deactivated]: DJs aren't resellers. The labels are using DJs' online presence to sell stock. It's like using Amazon Marketplace to sell your stuff, but you send the stock yourself rather than Amazon shipping it for you. Ergo, technically they're still selling from their own store.

That's a bit far. If it's marketed as being brand new, you're good, it'll come with certificates etc. The problem with this company is that they were second hand crap so they were full of fakes.

If not from the original Botique, consider its fake.

    • "Botique" store

      The irony 😄😄😄

  • I reckon they probably thought they'd get away with adding a couple of fakes among genuine products

Seems that there have been a lot, so it's more than "a couple". Seems pretty institutional in the company.

Looks like an ongoing fraud and they've finally be caught. They should give everyone complete refunds and be taken to court for fraud.
