Tricare Foam Soap Refill 500ml $1.69 @ ALDI

760

Walked past this and thought it was pretty cheap, was $3.29. Comes up to $3.38/L . Smells pretty nice, I find Palmolive Cherry Blossom to be way too overpowering after a while.

Although at normal price, didn't realise Coles also have their own foam soap refills for $3.50/L

  • Is this store specific?

    • Hmm, im not sure. I just realised that it says 'new low price' , I glanced at it instore and thought it was a sale price so it's probably across all Aldi's

    • The same price across Melbourne Metro ALDI stores.

Would think all stores as also coming up in the price reduction area on their site

I find Palmolive Cherry Blossom to be way too overpowering after a while

Semipermanently bonds to kids’ hands so you can verify they have washed them (since last week)

I've been using this for over 3yrs now. It's the best in the market.

Price had gone up for 6 months post-inflation, but price is now cheaper than it was pre-Covid. It used to sell for $2.50 for a long time, which then went to $3.50.

This is the cheapest it's been.

It's a great product. Do try it.

      OK Dilmah guy

also using it for years, but seems they diluted the concentration quite recently, now selling more water in the bottle
same dispenser produces less foam and more liquid for me now

    • I just buy Coles dishwashing liquid and dilute it by 5 times. :)

    Such superfluous antibacterial use thho

    • +4

I know, I try to avoid things like this that say they are antibacterial. If you wash your hands properly, normal soap products are fine…less chance of causing superbugs in the environment.

      • +1

right, antibac handwashing is overkill for everyday home usage

    • Antibacterial ≠ antibiotic

  • better to buy the coles 1 litre

    • Any reason why you think so? Haven't tried the Coles one since Aldi is always in the same vicinity as Coles for me

Just buy normal pump soap refill and dilute it. You get much more bang for your buck. thats all they do themselves. somewhere around 15 percent soap with the rest water and give a good shake.

I did actually just buy 2 of normal liquid soap refills instead 😂 but I seem to be getting the ratios a bit off recently, sometimes too soapy, sometimes too watery. Did consider this as a lazy option but at the end of the day 1L of soap which I dilute myself gets me way more than the foam refills

      • Mine's never 100% foamy, more of a foamy drizzle. Doesn't really affect the performance of the cleaning though. To me the trade off is well worth it. Also I hate the reason they are doing it, we should all buy the full strength soap just so we aren't getting ripped off so bad. Soap is dirt cheap to make.

Been doing this too, but realised that after a while my pumps clog and get hard to press. Popped one open and there's 2 small filter in it, had to take them both out and it worked again but the soap is more bubbly now than foamy. Do you have the same issue? Not sure if it's because I am getting the ratio too soapy or if it's just the pumps don't last

      • +1

Been doing it for over 5 years, I use Dettol foaming pump, it all comes with expereince, seems like 10 : 1 ratio is good, just mix with warm water, shake it & put away, next day I give it a shake once more, if you still see jelly soap then its too much, no issue though, jsut use the one on the top & top it up again.

      • Mess around with quantities till you find what works for you. I just buy another foam soap bottle if it dies. Still works out way cheaper over time if you only pay a couple bucks plus you get a brand new full refill with a new bottle.

This is the way. It's an extremely economical way to wash your hands.

Interesting this is cheaper than the special buy at the moment on the 2L for $7.99!

Another reason to buy the ALDI one over Palmolive is that the the ALDI one is made in Australia vs Thailand.

    • I did see the big tubs of foam and liquid soaps in the special buys section, but I can't remember if the foam was 2 or 3L, liquid is 3L. You just reminded me that I bought 2x normal price 1L liquid refills instead of the special buy tub 💔 at least the small ones have different smells

      • +1

The foam is 2L, I saw it too and worked out the maths, it was cheaper to buy two of the normal price refills so that's what I did.

I have found this a few times with the bulk buys at Aldi, when I do the maths vs their usual price per unit often it's not a deal more a convenience thing having that much on hand.

        • :) I did the same, it's been man of principle you know

    • Using imported ingredients tho

  • I just buy Coles dishwashing liquid and dilute it by 5 times. :)

  • is it better to buy woolies dishwashing liquid and dilute it by 5 times?
