I am off to the Gold Coast next week for work and have a spare morning and a spare afternoon (on separate days). Does anyone have any ideas on stuff to do, besides going to the beach? I will be staying in surfers paradise with no car.

So the buses are generally on time unlike the ones in Sydney? Ooh thanks for the reminder about Harbour Town - I vaguely remember someone else mentioning on ozbargain that there was a North Face store in the Gold Coast and I wanted to check it out!

We always use the buses when we go on holiday there (regularly as we have timeshare there) and never hire cars. Less stress too. Enjoy your time.

The local buses are excellent. Try some shopping at Harbour Town the outlet centre. Take a bus to and from there. You may have to do this in the afternoon slot as it's very big.
