Qantas Club - Cheapest Option?

What is the current cheapest deal to sign up for Qantas Club?

The company I'm contracting for is insisting they book and pay for my travel (don't get me started!) and they fly Qantas.
So looking to buy a member to Qantas Club. Their corporate rate is $61.38 joining fee and $426 1 year fee (inc GST).

Is there anything better than that out there currently?

    Qantas Club - Cheapest Option?

Cheapest option is not to go.

    • Well I have to :)

        No you don't.

  • Lucky you fly Qantas… we fly Virgin, and Qantas if no suitable Virgin flight is available. Usually we end up on Qantas because Virgin cancels or changes our flights last minute. Would be much nicer just to be on Qantas from the get-go and avoid all the last minute delays and phone calls to the corporate travel agent.

if you fly enough to want the qantas club you will end up a gold member with free access anyway

I'll only have about 10 return flights which won't get me there on this short term contract plus it wouldn't help me until I got status

So you'll end up paying around ~$25 per flight at the current rates you listed…… Up to you if you think this is 'worth' it or not.

Depends if you must eat/drink while at the airport and how much you need to consume.

Let me rephrase…. I want to buy Qantas Club. Whether you think its worth it or not is not my question.
My question is what is the current cheapest deal out there?

The forum gods have decided you will get answers to the question “Should I buy Qantas Club?”.
Sorry, there is no appeal process.

      • Absolutely…. That is a separate question and one I'm not interested in :)

I don't care if others don't think its worth it or if I should buy it.
The fact is that I WILL be buying it and I'm simplying trying to find the best price - SIMPLE!

    Based on:
    https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/discounted-qantas…
what you have been offered seems like a discount.

Churn credit cards and you'll get Club with 350k points earned.

That's about 4 platinum/black credit cards churned. So you'll need the income to support that.

      Doesn't help me now

They did a 50% off promotion last October, but otherwise I reckon lower rates will only be accessible from large employers or professional associations. For example, AMA with 30,000 members offers Joining: $61.38, 1 Year Membership: $462.00

    https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/member-specials/…

Says this card gets a joining fee waiver and “discount”.

you could simply buy passes from classifieds here.

If it works out cheaper buying individual access than Qantas club then your ahead :)

if you hit silver from your flying, youll be gifted a couple of passes as well.
and also if you can hit points club too.

or if someone you work with is a member, you could always go as there guest.

you may end up saving a couple of hundred doing it this way.

Your current quote looks pretty good. It would be hard to find better unless Qantas decides to release an unexpected flash sale.

  • +1

Pretty much get that and pay for it.
Only other option is as previously mentioned is to accrue 350k points in a year and get it complementary.

Generally if you have to take out Qantas Club you're not flying enough to make it worthwhile.
All the FF's get it due to the number of flights.

I believe it's tax deductible as well?

    • Some employers like ANU set-up Salary Sacrifice…
      https://services.anu.edu.au/human-resources/salaries-benefit…

Definitely still worth it in my opinion and need it now so don't want to wait for status.
Yes, its tax deductible and I'll buy it through my Pty Ltd company.

      • Your other option is status match if you have gold equivalent with another airline but that's not going to be instant.

  • get the company u are contracting with to pay for it!

So, this thread was zero help for someone wanting the same.

    • yeah zero help
I always fly with Gold status. But the status has been stripped off because I went on maternity leave! Very sad.
Anyway, I am also looking for the cheapest option. My company will salary sacrifice plus will get a discounted rate.
About to jet off with two toddlers to Europe and accessing the lounge will be a big godsend. They are very picky with foods, so instead of spending $20 to buy a bowl of pasta, I could get them to choose what they want from the food stand. Plus I can give them a quick shower during a big layover as they can be very messy. Anyway, most of the comments tends to think about their own situation which is not helpful. And I'm sorry for those who share the lounge with my toddlers.
