Hello all,

TECHFAST $999

AMD A520 Motherboard (B550 Upgrade available)
16GB RGB 3200MHz
500GB M.2 NVMe SSD
650W Bronze PSU

Was thinking of upgrading to B550 MOBO on both and on the BPC one the Ryzen5 5600 upgrade. Are these worth it? In addition some case upgrades for better cooling.

Thoughts?

What games you want to play? What is your budget

    • Warzone, LOL, CSGO and maybe the occasional RDR2. Happy to play on just high settings, ultra not required. Budget is around $1100.

I would pick the BPC rig. without any upgrades.

    add another $25 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/789464

and spare $ goes to monitor display.

I’d upgrade the 5500 just to get pcie 4.0. Might not be really necessary now but it’s a nice to have if faster drives become useful or a GPU upgrade that has limited lanes in the future.

if its purely gaming, i would pick the one with the better GPU, so i would pick BPC's computer

Ideally you'd get better bang for your buck and better specs building it yourself however out of those two I'd choose the BPC build.

  • Better gpu and larger ssd.

BPC wins for gaming but you need 16gb ram minimum.

CPU is nice but it is an easy upgrade to just switch out if you need more CPU power later.

Actually a slower CPU might be better for you in the Australian weather especially during summer when using stock cooling.

I run a 5700X but with a 3080 Ti and in summer I have to watch my temperatures closely and it forced me to reduce my settings so I don't overheat.

I use hwinfo64 to monitor temps.
