Pretty great opportunity to pick up the Edge 30 Ultra for ~$606.32 after cashback…

    • Bugger, just bought one at Officeworks with low price guarantee
      Can I return it?

Note that you can remove the automatically included "3 year onsite warranty" to save some money maybe - Dropped the price by $90 when i was playing with the config of a Yoga 7.

This was included in the "starting from $1279" price, so you could actually get it for $1189.

    • Yes that’s a good tip for saving money. I recently ordered a Legion which hasn’t shipped yet and decided the 3 year onsite was going to be worth it for peace of mind but it was a close call. ;-)

    • 3 years onsite support seems like a no brainer to go for $80 (after cashback) IMO. I'd be adding the battery replacement for $24 too and trying to get that replaced at the end of the warranty term to refresh the laptop battery.

      • I don't see the battery replacement option? that does sound like a good deal though you're right.

        • After choosing your spec and clicking the 'Next: Add Service' button you will see 'Step 2: Purchase Additional Services' underneath the warranty plans with an option to add 'Sealed Battery Replacement'.

      • I ended up taking it also after the poor quality dell gaming laptop I had from this Deal only lasted a bit over 2 years until the capacitors on the motherboard blew up.

      • I just saw that and the battery replacement looks interesting. Do you know what it means with "Obtain a single battery replacement for any covered battery that fails to meet minimum performance standards."?

        • Never used it myself so not quite sure tbh. I'm sure it probably measures the battery health with an in house tool/metrics which would be up to them to define.

I am looking for a laptop that is good enough for light gaming like
Roblox/ minecraft and photo editing using light room. Any suggestions? Looking for
Something light as I will be carrying for travelling as well.

    Thanks

  • Will it stack with the 10% newsletter signup?

    • You only can use one code: deals, so no

  • BE WARNED: I recently purchased a laptop from Lenovo which offered 13.6% cashback at shopback on top of existing sales. My initial request was rejected and I had to go through Shopback's support team (great service) to get my money refunded to my Shopback account. This took 10 weeks because Lenovo were dragging their feet on it. I know this is anecdotal but be warned you may have to jump through some hoops and wait awhile to get your money back.

    • did they say why it was rejected ?

      • There was no reason, their automatic system just failed to give me credit for the purchase. I did get the money 10 weeks later though.

  • Hmm the Yoga's are tempting

            • @toyapple9: higher numbers usually means the higher tier laptop.

              i usually means intel.

slim means its the slim version of the product.

I'm not exactly sure what the pro demotes, even though I have a legion 5 pro..

    • +2

      i = intel
7, 9 = model numbers, higher the number the more premium/high performance the unit

Yoga 7 = 2-in-1 AMD probably only iGPU (AMD iGPUs are actually alright though)
Yoga 7i = 2-in-1 intel probably only iGPU (no point of buying this if the AMD is priced similarly)
Yoga Pro 7i = Normal non-convertible laptop, usually has a dedicated GPU
Yoga slim 7i = no idea, maybe a slimmer pro with worse performance
Yoga Pro 9i = High-end version of the Yoga Pro 7i. Probably terrible battery life due to high power demand.

      • Thanks mate for your help! Really appreciate it

  • Merged from Cashrewards Lenovo 12% Discount

Cashrewards currently has a 12% discount for Lenovo products.

    https://www.cashrewards.com.au/store/lenovo

However it states in the details: " Lenovo Pro store only. ABN required to sign up. T&C apply. See Lenovo website for details. "

When I click the link on Cashrewards website it takes me to the standard store (not the Pro/Business store) and discount successfully applies via the browse add-in.
However I do not have an ABN and the website is not the pro store.

Maybe an obvious answer to people that have used Cashrewards in the past, however im unsure:

Am I going to get this discount or not?

    Thankyou :)

Reminder for people to remove the $2 Lenovo rewards on new accounts or you can lose your 12% cashback

Cashback is ineligible on the following:
"Payments using MyLenovo Rewards Points and/or any Lenovo credits."

  • Any laptop recommendation for Photography works? Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Friends are suggesting to use M2 Macbooks. I feel like sticking with the PC ecosystem since I have never used any apple products. Also, they seem to be double the price too. not sure i want to spent that much.

    • No idea but just a heads up, I don't know if the current crop of Lenovo OLEDs do this but last years Lenovo OLEDs tended to be a bit warm.

Yoga 7 Gen 7 AMD "However, the color temperature is a somewhat too warm" https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Yoga-7-14-G7-review-Mul…

Z13 "There is minimal color cast in true red in conjunction with a color temperature that is slightly too warm"
      https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-Z13-G1-OLED-Re…

I owned both laptops with OLED screens and can confirm the images were noticeably warm, tried to calibrate both using displayCAL + X-Rite i1Display Studio but no luck.

      • Thanks for the heads up. I will mostly be working on my Samsung S80PB monitor though, which I think is somewhat colour correct. I am more worried about the performance of the laptop while processing images and occasional video editing. My current Lenovo legion 7 is already a jet engine even without anything running

        • I was pretty happy with the performance of the Yoga 7 gen 7 AMD and Thinkpad Z13 with the AMD 6800U variants. I don't remember them being noisy, not even under load (I'm sure they probably weren't silent either but the fan noise never bothered me). The Yoga 7's iGPU cuts into the 16GB of RAM which was somewhat limiting between Lightroom and Chrome so I got a Z13 which was available with 32GB RAM.

Don't own either of them anymore as I sold in anticipation of the non-existent Phoenix AMD chips (barely any stock/choice out there with them with iGPUs). The 6800U has been rebadged and being sold under the 7735U name these days.

Feedback for fan noise from some reviews:

"During use, you immediately notice that Lenovo has installed only one fan. In conjunction with the relatively high TDP limits, the fan quickly reaches its maximum volume (depending on the power mode), even under medium load. We registered the following values: Maximum 31.2 dB(A) in Battery Saver mode, 37.2 dB(A) in Intelligent Cooling mode and 42.8 dB(A) in Performance mode. On the other hand, the noise is not high-pitched or annoying. In everyday use, the fan is often deactivated or the noise level is rather quiet. No annoying noises such as coil whine were detected."

          https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Yoga-7-14-G7-review-Mul…

"The ThinkPad Z13 uses cooling with two small fans. These are normally idle and for very light tasks they are usually silent. But the fans will sometimes start up even when just browsing. Due to high TDP values, the fans reach their maximum speed almost immediately under increased load, which corresponds to about 41 dB(A). The noise is clearly audible, but there are no annoying frequencies. We could not detect any other noises of electronic origin."

  • These guys are crooks. i bought a laptop with the last 12% and cashback denied my claim. ive purchased via cashback so many times and they just gave me a generic list of BS of why the purchase didnt count.

    • I agree, Peachboy. Cashrewards used to be my go to but in the last couple of years, they have been terrible. I only use ShopBack now, unless, Cashrewards has a 'too good to be true' cashback offer. I don't hold my breath on it tracking though. :/

Didnot used ABN and got the cashback tracking straightaway on individual consumer account.Laptop is coming from Honkong->Taipie->Aus
