Just wondering what you single people generally pay for health insurance. First time having to get it and seems like such a rip. $100 a month and I won’t use any thing.

Otherwise, look for ones with X weeks free or gift cards and churn if you're not actually going to use it.
Yep - Nowadays they are offering alot of incentives such as Qantas points, X amount back after x weeks, Rebate, waiving waiting periods. I look for the best points deals as they make the health care a bit cheaper after valuing the points :)
What options do you select for min cover to avoid paying Medicare surcharge?
Depends what you are after? The most basic of hospital cover to avoid medicare surcharge? Or extras (which are actually never worth it. Only get it if you have an exact idea of what treatment you need. Cancel it after)
My hospital cover costs maybe $40-50 a month
I check canstar and finder for health isurance sign up offers every month to see some offers, one actually has HCF which you never see
top family hospital and extras $465 a month medibank
Reckon getting "before 31" is a rort scheme
That's just a junk policy to reduce your tax burden.
