500GB Premium Storage for 90 Days US$4.99 (~A$7.43) @ pCloud

20

Been looking at where to store/backup my photos and saw this intro deal. Would still need to sign up for a full account after 90 days but a good way to trial their service.

  • Or just use Terabox.com — 1024GB storage completely free.

    • 1024gb completely free, but you can only store 20 files LOL

Max number of files that can be saved 20 files

      • I'm just throwing encrypted backups to it in 4GB chunks. Works well for me, for the price. I guess they've changed the rules, as I have 60+ files there already and keep adding more with no issues.

terabox is a spyware, its another name is baidu netdisk in communist china.

      • So don't use the app. Encrypt whatever you send there. Honestly, if you decide to trust Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive you're already committing to storing your data on someone else's computer, so just take the necessary precautions.

Happy pCloud "Premium Plus Lifetime Plan" user here!

I purchased it in 2017 during one of pCloud's many 'sales' and have more than recouped the one-off purchase price on my 2TB plan. I also upgraded to the Lifetime Crypto feature to have a "zero-knowledge encrypted folder".

Back in 2017, speeds were an issue with potluck transfer times but that has resolved over the last few years.

One caveat though: if you create an account be sure to use European Union (Luxembourg) as your data region - do not use the United States (Dallas, Texas) data region - if you prefer a ‘better’ level of privacy.

My account was originally setup for the United States, and I had to pay USD $20 to transfer it to the EU. I was worried the upload/download speeds would be impacted moving from US to EU servers, but the speeds are virtually unaffected.

    • Do you remember how much you paid for the 2TB plan?

Ha! Was waiting for that question as I had to look it up for curiosity as well.

USD $250.00 in 2017 (so the exchange rate was probably better in those days)

I upgraded to Lifetime Crypto in 2019 for USD $125.00, which I thought was expensive but I'm still in front money-wise compared to other services and don't ever need to spend any more money on the plan.

  • Why not fly to Turkiye for some cloud or gdrive etc
