Although summer is a few months away, Costco Coomera (Gold Coast) had stock today of the large Vornado 'air circulators' (black) at a very competitive price of $169.99. These are currently sold elsewhere for $220 to $279.

Having bought a couple of these last year from Costco, the Vornados are powerful devices with a 5 year satisfaction warranty.

Are these quiet?
not at all, at max speed it's a quiet tornado.
As quiet as a jet engine 😆 in summer I have to use the lowest setting and then it’s kind of like a white noise machine but still very effective at moving the air. I use highest setting for drying laundry and it works like magic
DC motors are meant to be more energy efficient and quieter.
Good Guys Commercial has the 633DC commercial fir $182 for anyone interested.
^ this, the DC are more efficient and can be variably controlled
We have the 633DC and it is pretty quiet to run overnight. I can’t compare it to the AC fan because we don’t have one.

Why are these so expensive?
I have one and not impresssed, don’t get sucked into the marketing, just buy a normal fan
