Good Quality Steam Mop?

Looking for a good steam mop at an affordable price (less than $200), just wondering what peoples thoughts are on a good model/brand? I have read up on some like the Kenwood and Bissel and the reviews are very mixed some owners have given then 1 star and others 5 for the same model (eg Kenwood SC2000)

Also looking for a bargain if there is one to be had

Thanks

  • Question for you, what would you use a steam mop for ?

Another question is, can you use them on floor boards.

    Thanks

  • It was mainly to use on Floorboards and Lino. I have heard some people use them on floorboards but also that after time they could mayb take some of the varnish off the timber but I am not sure if this is the case or not

  • Problem on using with timber floorboards is the steam gets into the wood, especially down teh sides and causes it to expand, this can mean uneven flooring as they push against eachother over time.

In saying that I have yused one on wooden floors in moderation without any dramas. I know it is lame, but I bought the Danoz Direct one for $200 which came with a great little vacume cleaner and all teh attachments

  • We had a Kenwood steam mop and whilst it was OK it was nowhere near as good as the Karcher we got. Do a search on eBay for "Karcher Steam" and you'll find some that come with a floor mop and other attachments for windows too. They'll start around $200. As well as the extra versatility they hold more water so are more practical as well. Good luck

  • I also have a Karcher and am happy with it. I use it on the tiles as well as carpet for spot cleaning.
