UX Recorder - User Testing for Mobile Web Sites for $0.00 (Was $64.99)

24

UX Recorder is designed for usability professionals who are conducting user testing on mobile Web sites. It uses the built-in hardware on your iOS device to record on-screen activity, video of the user’s face, and audio. You can easily export screen-in-screen video files for viewing in QuickTime (H.264 .MOV format).

++ KEY FEATURES

• Records user interactions with a Web site on the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
• Records both user actions (swipes, taps, scrolling, browser controls) AND video of the user via the device's camera.
• Exports recorded sessions to your computer’s desktop via Dropbox, iTunes, or Camera Roll.
• Easy pause and resume of session recording.
• Allows multiple projects to organize testing sessions.
• Supports bookmarks to save Web site URLs for easy access during testing sessions.
• Supports bookmark sharing with iCloud.
• Purchase session credits via In-App Purchase for easy testing on user's devices.

++ IMPORTANT NOTES:

• UX Recorder cannot be used to record activity in other iOS apps—it acts as a Web browser and can only be used to record Web sites.
• Devices must be running iOS 5.0 or higher.
• Recording user testing sessions via UX Recorder is very resource intensive, and we recommend that you record when plugged into a power source.

++ FEEDBACK

We'd love to hear from you. We have a lot of plans to enhance UX Recorder in the future and we'd love to incorporate your feedback.

Let us know how UX Recorder has worked for you. Email us: [email protected].

What's new

New Features:

  • UX Recorder now allows you to purchase recording time by the session via In-App Purchase! All of the details below…
  • You can now decide which screen glyphs (tap, pan, pinch, etc…) you'd like to be rendered into your videos.
  • You can control the export quality of your videos - use lower quality exports to speed up processing and reduce video file sizes.
  • We now include the browser controls (i.e. back button) in the on-screen glyphs added to your videos.
  • Improved compatibility with future iOS versions.
  • Bug fixes and performance enhancements.

** Details on New Purchasing Options **

As of this 1.2 update, UX Recorder is now free in the App Store. You can purchase individual sessions or blocks of sessions via In-App Purchase. You can also choose to unlock the app for a one-time fee.

If you do not have any unused session credits, UX Recorder will limit functions like recording time, export and number of sessions that you are able to create.

Sessions can currently be purchased individually or in a block of five. A session created with a session credit is fully operational, even if you use all of your credits. You don't lose access to sessions you've already purchased.

NOTE: Existing customers - if you had previously updated to v1.1.1 (released 8/8), you should automatically be grandfathered into the fully unlocked version. If you missed that update or have any trouble, please contact us at [email protected] and we'll get you going. Existing customers DO NOT need to purchase anything a second time. If you are inconvenienced during this transition, we apologize - we believe these new purchasing options will make it a lot easier for people to conduct their sessions, especially on user's own devices.

    free to download but not to use….UX Recorder now allows you to purchase recording time by the session via In-App Purchase! All of the details below…
    ?

  • Not really "free" then. The changed their business model from single paid app license to a service based model.

  • Yeah not really a deal unless you use less than $32.50 worth of recording time (taking into account the 50% itunes cards deals :))

    Lol, I was so excited, now I am just annoyed. Not free.

    • at least you now have the option to try it before you put any money down. But yeah the limitations of it being web only kinda make it less interesting - though I don't know how they could run it with other apps anyway being a sand boxed system and all.

  • and in other news..
