Why would OP support access to internet radio stations? He/she's just some ordinary person posting a deal.

    32st July?

Not upvoting the deal itself, but upvoting the company. I bought a receiver through them a few months ago. I originally wanted to chat over the phone about it but nobody picked up. I didn't leave a message but 5 minutes later someone hit caller ID and called me back. Had a good chat with a nice lad called Paul. He then suffered through an email chain with me and my noob questions. Ended up getting a great deal from them. Their communication is top notch and would recommend them if you want to buy locally.

Similar here. I was having an issue with a receiver I bought from them where it wouldn't recognise the height channels after moving it into a new cabinet.. As it was under warranty they were my first call. After a few emails we sorted it. In the end it was as simple as a factory reset.

And funnily enough, it was Paul that helped me out. I have bought from them a few times before, and will definitely buy from them again.

      • Paul must have a high tolerance for customers. +1.

I just bought this amp a few weeks ago, it's pretty awesome, not amazing but then again for under a grand I am not complaining. It's a little outdated in the features I was after but it still does them all fine. The os is a bit like using android 6 when android 13 is current. It does look pretty sexy too.

Just out of curiosity what features is this missing? I have an even older version of this (the vsx-932), what am i missing?
I agree on the interface, its horrendous, luckily i never have to go in there, i do everything i need from the pioneer app on my phone.

      • I have the VSX-930, still happy with it even though MAC addressee changes on it's own sometimes & BT connection drops out. On screen menu sys is ok, the app still runs even though I think it only ever had one update just like the amp lol. It would be nice if Pioneer supported their products long term. Only thing missing is 4k120 & 8k60. I might hold off updating for a few more years & end up getting something more premium, but discounted the OzB way.

        • That was my thoughts as well, the tech hasn't evolved enough yet for me to warrant upgrading. I have dolby atmos/dts:x and dolby vision at 4k60 which is all my tv can handle anyway. 8k60 will be nice at some point down the track but not really needed yet with the lack of content.

  • No 7 channels pre out,
    80w is enough for 3x 4Ω speakers and 2x 6Ω plus 2x 8Ω?

    This or denon X1700H?

    • +2

probably personal preference as they are very similar, my vote is for Denon X1700H.

80w is plenty. At sane listening levels from @ 3m with moderately sensitive speakers, a receiver is only going to average an output of around 10 to 15 watts.

Example, I have a 6 watt tube amp in my family room and at 2.5m, near flat out it averages around 82db. I am partially deaf, and to me, it is borderline too loud.
