Yep, it creates an incentive for people to shelve their Amex for a while after it becomes their regular card, if only to get the offers again. It’s silly but no doubt it serves Amex’s purposes
Me. I have never put my cards (or purcahse with) into digital wallet on my phone. Now am tempted
It’s all based on usage, I went to Europe for a month didn’t use mine there, got back and had the 20% rebate on everything for the next $500 spent. It’s all analytics driven
They wouldn’t offer it unless you’re new to Amex or haven’t used the card enough and I use mine daily
