Looking for the cheapest possible simcard i can get in australia that will last 365 days.
This is a sim that's going to be put in an old phone, and only there for answering calls.
Majority of the time the phone will be connected to wifi, so i don't need any (or minimal) data, don't need 5g, and i don't need to make calls, only receive.
What options are out there? most of the really cheap sims i see out there only last 30 or 60 days before needing to top up at a premium.

It's also worth noting that Amaysim let you keep your number for a year (receiving SMS and calls only, no data, no nothing) after any prepaid plan expires, so you could halve your effective running costs if you go with that $10 prepaid credit plan and don't mind having no outgoing call/SMS for the 2nd year.
Just remember to set any auto renew settings to off.
oh cool, and will it still be able to receive calls/sms's in that 2nd year?
@whitepuma: I believe so, but I've never stretched it all the way into that 1 year of "receive only" mode.
I can only say I've gone fairly deep into it and was still able to receive SMS codes when I eventually port out that number.
Actually the Aldi sim is the cheapest. $5 valid a year.

It's not a plan you buy. You just get the sim card and it includes $5.
Looks like they changed it to 60 day credit (they use to be 365 day).
Then yearly top ups start at $15.

If you are a regular Woolies shopper, I would suggest their $170/365 day plan could work out better long term, as the 10% off you get at Woolies a month can easily add up to more than the cost of the plan.
