  • Does anyone currently have one?

I got a conway one in Feb and it started sounding like a rock tumbler after a couple of months

I've had mine 4+ years and zero problems.

I got one on 24/7 no issue. This is a good product.

WINIX is very reliable and ausclimate.com.au is the exclusive distributor in Aus, with excellent warranty support, regardless what merchant you buy it from (just contact them direct).

I wouldn't have many worries recommending this brand. The other upside is the replacement filters have been readily available for many many years at a fairly consistent price.

Price matched with Australian company here -> https://ausclimate.com.au/products/zero-pro-5-stage-air-puri…

    • Price matched with Australian company here

Interesting! They used to have $700+ as the retail price. Now they are saying $499! $499 is a much more realistic price for it, though.

    • You makde the same comment in the other Winix thread. Just wanted to clarify that the one you buy off Amazon (like here) is also from ausclimate, so it doesn’t matter much but faster shipping with Amazon and better cashback.

      • +3

Faster shipping but give more profits to amazon over an Australian company. All depends on your priorities I guess.

  • I have three of these for a few years and all are excellent

How often do you have to buy new filters? And how much do you pay for a new one?

      • +1

Genuine filter sets are $150+ Amazon now has 3rd party ones for about $60. They last me about a year but will depend on how dusty your place is. You can run it past the replace filter alarm but will increase running cost and wear and tear on fan the longer you do. The pet filters work really well.

        • What does a pet filter do?

          • @MKBHD: It's a disposable coarse cloth that sticks on the front. It catches large stuff like fur and hair. If you have pets it makes it easier to clean.

            • @Elyxar: Nice if I don't have pets I can just choose not to install it?

Filters have lasted well over a year ..one unit runs all night and is off during the day…another unit is in the study and only runs while I'm in there. I vacuum the filters regularly(about monthly). Cost is about $150 . I also have a particle detector which can monitor how well the purifier is working….can quickly remove smoke/dust….The carbon filter probably doesn't last as long, hard to say but I'm more interested in air borne particles….

      • Hepa filters degrade over a much longer period than stated. They become more effective at catching particles as the caught particles trap more (holes become smaller). But they do lose efficiency. So it's a bit of turns and roundabouts.

  • How does it compare to Xiaomi 3H?

    • It’s quieter I believe and has Plasma tech. No remote though.

  • Imagine putting my cat through that filter.

    Should be illegal!
