Bad timing after this month's last AliExpress sale has ended. Anything 11" and above will typically exceed your A$250 budget. The Teclast T50 Pro when on sale would fit within your budget. 11", 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and the MediaTek Helio G99 CPU is on the higher end of the mid-range scale.
If you wanted smaller then the Doogee T30 as you mentioned is excellent value. Another one worth considering is the 10.6" Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad 2022 with the CN ROM. The 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant would be best and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 sits just below the Helio G99. With the CN ROM you will get OTA updates including Android 13, as well as Widevine L1 DRM for Netflix.
Alternatively you can grab the Alldocube iPlay50 Pro for US$154.48 (~A$227.93) with the coupons JULYOT14 and F1UPBXM1NP27 plus an additional US$2 taken off automatically at checkout.
You can see feedback in previous deals. Basically it's 10.4", Android 12, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage and Helio G99 CPU so it'll be snappy enough.
