They just resell other services. You gave them your domain? I always leave domains with big registrars and leave my hosting more mobile. Wouldn't matter if a host died, I could just point the domain somewhere else. Though I doubt DO is going to die anytime soon, not with their pricing structure..

  • What do you mean website about to die? As in they will delete your hosting account? Make sure you take a backup of your website as needed. If your site is built with WordPress, login, download WPVivid backup plugin and take a backup. In case of emails hosted aswell, do imapsync migration offsite. SSL says its free on the site so may just need auto renewal but it sounds like your existing setup needs another look at. I offer web hosting to clients so if you'd like a free consult on best solution to take, send through a PM.

  • hi, I took up their offer in 2020 as others agreed it was a good deal so I transfered my website over and i have been paying them hosting/domain since 2020.

The bank invoices keep going through and I had no issues until 2021 when tickets werent being answered and phone didnt work but then this guy david reached out and he fixed the site then its been like this for months again and no one is there to support my questions….yet they keep taking my money and i keep paying for fear ill lose all my site/content etc.

just cant work out wtf is going on! thanks

    • They probably use an automated billing system so I'd assume payments would go through. Take a backup immediately is my advise. Whats your website? If they took payment and aren't responding etc, try contacting your bank to get a refund, not sure the legalities behind it but take a look.

    • What kind of website do you have, fairly low traffic static HTML? You can host that yourself for free on Github Pages, Cloudflare Pages, or Netlify. Netlify especially gives pretty good page speeds in my testing. Setting up forms on Netlify isn't so straight forward and may not be free, I've never actually used their CMS so I don't know.

    • Hi Cammac99.

I was managing HostHero originally when I was working for a previous employer in 2020.

I have since moved on as you found but I still have contact with some people over there.

If you'd like to send me a message, I'll gladly see what I can do for you.

  • Thank you very much.

Go buy a managed solution, you appear to be high maintenance and you're not the type of customer cheapo resellers service.

  • THANKS REGGIE
