Issue When Trying to Connect The 2nd Asus RT-AX92U as a Node to Create AiMesh

Hi guys

I am pretty useless when it comes to IT so hopefully someone can offer expert advice on how I can overcome the issue when setting up a AiMesh with 2 x Asus RT-AX92U.

Issue description:

I setup the first router (downstair), all good, Lan working, both wifi 2.4 & 5 are working and speed is expected. I can login to the ASUS router page to change settings and update firmware etc. However, once I tried to setup the 2nd one as a node. it successfully found the 2nd router and a AiMesh is hence setup ok. When I thought everything when well and easy, within a couple of mins, I noticed the below:-

  • (both 2.4 & 5 wifi) no longer working. It can be connected but no internet
  • Lan is extremely slow for the primary router and The nothing can be connect through the 2nd router (the nod), Lan or wifi
  • when I try to go back to the Asus router browser and try to check the options, setup etc, I an Unable to click on any of the option, the whole UI is basically freeze and not responding.
  • Then, I power off the node and a min or 2 later, everything works fine again for the primary router and the Asus UI works perfectly fine again. So I decide to reset the node and go through the setup once again. And only have to go through all same issues as above.

Can someone offer me some help. would be much appreciated!!!!!!

Kinldy let me know if I miss any information you may need to diagnose the issue as I had extremely limited knowledge on this.

    Have you tried using the Asus router app to set up the second device? might be worth trying.

    Try to rest your node,a hard reset if it need to

    Thanks guys! I did try reset and is no use, also tried the app to set up the second device. Once is done, the whole system won't work. I will try to read through the link.
