With all the M.2 SSD deals as far as the eye can see, why not pickup a quality M.2 NVMe SSD enclosure for a low price? These are a great option if you're looking to clone your data onto an M.2 SSD or for use as portable SSD storage.

The NVMe-SATA enclosure supports both M Key and B&M key SSDs. It has fast read/write speeds due to being USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps) via USB-C and uses the RTL9210B chipset which has better performance and reliability over other chipsets. Plus the case is metal with a thermal pad for better heat dissipation.

There's a number of other enclosures on sale including 'NVMe Only' for US$7.26 (~A$10.92) and 'SATA Only' for US$4.84 (~A$7.28). Available in Black, Blue, White and Pink.

One per customer. AU$ based on current Mastercard rate & GST inclusive.

    +1 for that ozb/nvme/heatsinksamsung pic :)

  • I have a SATA enclosure and an NVMe enclosure, do I pick up a combined one too? hmm

    • I am very tempted but only got one of these a few days ago to migrate to my new Samsung 2Tb NVMe when it arrives - figured it would be faster and more direct route rather than having to go via USB https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B086MM5PQN - would definitely shell out for the RTL9210B if I was getting something new, but if your current enclosures are doing their job I'm sure this deal will pop up again (just like the external 2.5 inch ones were a few months back)

      • Hmm that looks like an interesting solution, but I got mine mostly to do disk management/cloning for laptops and others without PCIe slots. Too bad macrium is not going to be free anymore :(

I bought one of these from last deal.

The outer chassis is a sliding design, and have no direct contact with the SSD inside it.

The air gap between the drive and the chassis do make the SSD heat up quite a bit.

it does work though, don't buy it if you want to do a lot of data transfer or use the drive very often.

    • Can confirm, bought it thinking the metal would be a heatsink but it barely makes any contact. Should've known given it's an Orico. They always do this.

    • would placing a thermal pad in between help much?

      • +1

        you can't.

Keep in mind this slide on.

No way to slide it on with a thermal pad stuffed inbetween

  • I'm clicking through on the link but I'm getting GST added to the price in checkout. Prices above are not GST inclusive for me.

    • US prices are still correct.

      • Thanks. I was clicking on the other two variants of the product with either case or USB A adapter at US$9.68+GST. To get the US$9.67, need to click on the $8.79 variants then the final checkout price including GST is as listed.

I've got one of these, the integrated heat sync is great.

ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure, USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) to NVMe PCI-E M.2 SSD Case Support UASP for NVMe SSD Size 2230/2242/2260/2280(up to 4TB)-M2PV https://amzn.asia/d/fgTRqKW

Paid $22, can't believe they are $38 now, maybe the computer shops have them.

    • ps. dubious about speeds on any of these enclosures.
get about 75MBps over the wifi 6 (100/20 plan) copying files to it (connected to a raspberri pi). Cant imagine 1000x faster

Was moreso to repurpose the M.2 when swapping around a few drives.

      • If you have a 10Gbps port then they can get close, there are multiple reviews showing it.

I got mine today, there's a firmware update available through Orico that might be worth doing. From my limited reading it fixes the issue of unsafe shutdowns racking up (visible via smart) even when you 'safely remove'. Mine was on 1.24x, updated to 1.27x.

  • Thank you OP, I bought one! 🙏😊

  • What Gen / PCIE does this support?

    Gen 3 x2 ? I'd be surprised if it's more than that.

    • PCIe Gen3 x2.

      • That's pretty good TBH.

  • Thanks OP, been on the look out for one of these for a while now.

  • Not sure what's up but not getting the above prices. On phone, tried Chrome and Firefox, tried desktop mode, tried signing in, tried changing to USD.
