  I'm currently a customer of VentraIP, but one thing annoys me about them.

  The web hosting promotions are always for "first invoice" aka "new customers" only.

  Is customer retention not a priority? I suppose it's economics, for every 5 that join only 1 will leave etc.

  Either way, I shall most likely be moving when the time comes because of this.

    If they offered promos like that to existing customers, wouldn't all customers then only ever renew during a promotion? Does anyone offer 50%-75% off for existing customers?

      I believe they have an existing customer appreciation day which I believe should be coming up again soon, although it wont be anywhere near 75%.

    Couldn't you find one of the many cpanel hosts that offer free 30 day trials, migrate your account to them (very easy with cpanel to cpanel) cancel with Ventra, then sign up again with Ventra and transfer back? Sure it's a little messy and possibly un-ethical… but… Profit!!!

    Although it's probably a little too late to do this since the offer ends today.

    Also when you find a good web host it's a good idea to stick with them and pay for the service you're getting. There are a lot of web hosts which promise the world and deliver very little of what the offer / deliver it very poorly.

      I've lost count of the number of host i've been with over the last 8 years. I've had everything from shared hosting to unmanaged dedicated servers.

      And I agree you should stick with a good web host when you find one. And VentraIP is a good one which will make the decision to potentially leave even more difficult.

    Hi there. Just so you know, we have Customer Appreciation Days twice a year (next one is in November) where you can take 25% off your renewal invoice. There are some rare exceptions to this like back in May where we did some offers for existing customers, plus this week we did a special upgrade offer for customers upgrading from Economy to EconomyPLUS. These big special offer days WILL come to an end eventually as we get our name out there, but we want people to take advantage of them and get our name out there as we don't do any other form of advertising and we rely on people like you saying to people "wow, I get great service from these guys" or "just saved 50% how cool!". I hope this makes sense. :)

    Seriously trying to figure out, what's so cheap about this? It seems like standard pricing…

    I want to make a website today with email, too ([email protected]). That's what this type of thing is, right?

      Eco Plus Package for 1 years works out to be - $2.25 a month, for an Aus host, that is so cheap, and with that unlimited add on domains, obviously you can't resell that because of the need for CPanels, but it is good for personal stuff.
