    Varies per person.
    Got one similar to these(the cheaper $20 version that attaches directly to faucets) as a supplement to brushing and flossing. 0 cavities found at every checkup for the last 4 years after buying it, which is a first for me. Gums healthier too.
    On the other hand have a co-worker that never flosses and just had his first dental appointment/clean. 0 cavities as well.

    On a side note, people that have braces should definitely get one.
