The OG in pure water wipes! It hasn't been this cheap since March 2022. I had to switch to a different brand which were acceptable but not the same. I couldn't justify the price rising to near then above $60.

Even with the change to biodegradable material, this is still the best plain wipe around. I prefer water wipes when using it on sensitive arses. It was the only one stocked at the hospital and that's how they got me. Due to the cost though these are strictly kid butt wipes only, I save the cheaper stuff for hands and surfaces.

  • Interested to know how this compares to the cheap Kmart one in terms of benefits or advantages.
I have tried both but cannot justify the price tag for this WaterWipes.

    • +1

Kmart Ingredients: Aqua (water), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycerine, Propylene, Glycol, Ethylhexlglycerin, Benzalkionium Chloride, Tocopherol Acetate, Citric Acic, Polysorbate 20, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Grain Extract containing Amino Acid (Glycine)

      WaterWipes Ingredients: Aqua (water)

I think it's mostly not to expose our kids to all those nasties so early on.

    • These are closest to straight up tap water on a dry wipe. No sudsy soapy feel on the wipes.

The cloth material is less stretchy aswell, good for aggressive wiping, and comes out one at a time and don't have issues with half of the wipes wanting to come out at once.

Always test your wipes by wiping it on your lips, you'd be surprised how much will irritate and burn you (looking at you curash water wipes)

  • Thanks, best wipes ever for our little ones.

  • We've been using Tooshies wipes when I ran out of WW.

I like that Tooshies is bigger and textured. I think the environmental benefits equal between the two (compostable, no nasties).

Can someone tell me why they prefer Water Wipes to Tooshies if they've used both?

    • +1

I tried Tooshies as well, they are bigger and more textured I agree. Water wipes are wetter, so help with getting solids off better. Tooshies also have slightly more ingredients so WW are 'purer'. But both are brilliant for butts!

  • These wipes are great, we tried a bunch, the tricky problem is getting just the right amount of liquid, some of the brands were too dry, others were too wet and would release water when wiping. Overall these wipes were the best we tried, although unfortunately they are relatively difficult to pull out of the packet

  • How are these compared to the Huggies water ones? Also if the baby doesn't have any reactions to the normal unscented type wipes does it still really make a difference?

  • To everyone asking what's the difference, this one only has TWO ingredients: water and a drop of fruit extract (citric acid IIRC).

Every other type of wipes on the market has an ingredients list of 5-7 positions, incl stuff like caprylic glycol, hydroacethone etc etc. Even the "99% water" ones from huggies and others have a bunch of stuff in them.

Hence these are good not only for bums, but also for sticky fingers, hands, cheeks, faces, etc. Great when you're out and about. I know I'd rather not wipe my kids' face and hands with Caprilyl glycol and other stuff made to clean sh*t off the bum easier.

Why other manufacturers cannot make a simple wipe like this with only 2 ingredients is beyond me, must be too hard. In the meantime have to stock up on these when on sale (which is not that often these days).

    thanks OP

    • What are your thoughts on these vs. Curash 99% water? The Curash do seem to have a couple more preservatives

      • TBH I don't remember if we tried Curash, but we went through nearly all the major brands 3 years ago with our first, and she had a mild eczema, we couldn't narrow it down to wipes or nappies, but after using water wipes and weleda creams it went away. Afterwards we started using "water" wipes from rascal and huggies as cheaper alternatives (they can be had for 2.50 when half price). But we still use water wipes for both kids all the time as they are wetter and can be safely used not only on bum but also for hands and face.

        • Cool thanks for that. Another option we're considering is reusable cloth wipes but that's a bit of a commitment lol

          • +1

@Luigy: It's a commitment, we only reusable cloth for bathing. Don't discount water/power and washing machine wear and tear. Plus you still need wipes when you're out and about and it happens

          • +2

@Luigy: Reading websites and forums talking about using up to 1000 wipes a month for a newborn so that would be a lot of washing and rinsing if you used cloth ones lol.
