Best below $250 Robot Vacuum Cleaner That Does Not Need Wi-Fi

So I noticed that is prime day so was looking at robot vacuum cleaners to buy for work and just to use while I do other tasks to maybe lessen my work load but I cannot use the work Wi-Fi and using my mobile as a hot spot is also not an option as I will be moving around the site so I'm looking for the best and cheapest robot vacuum cleaners right now as I am probably buy a couple and just deploy them around the work site while I go do other stuff like empty bins and wipe down surfaces.

Doesn't have to be perfect as I will probably do a final vacuum with the proper work vacuum but might help lessen the load for me which we all know is a blessing to find at work.

So any recommendations for no Wi-Fi robot vacuum cleaners does not have to just be from Amazon but right now Prime day sales are still going so the deals might be better from there right now.

Thank you.

EDIT: forgot to add budget is below $250

Most likely scenario is I find some $150 or below robot vacuum cleaners and then buy like 4-5 of them to spread out between 2 sites. If they do well might buy 3-4 more so I can have one in every room or sector

    a wife ?

  • I've set up a vacuum cleaner at home (it does connect to wifi but not mandatory for operation). Basically just needed to hotspot from my phone once to do the initial setup and then it operates to either a schedule or you can manually turn it on at the unit. I think most units operate the same way - this was a Kogan one.
Also have a Roidmi Eve plus that i believe could work without wifi.

    • Was it the R20 I saw them selling cheap on ebay was thinking of grabbing them but wasn't sure if they could work without WiFi or Bluetooth connection.. I really need them to be offline doesn't matter if not perfect room mapping sweeping just good enough as these will be turned on pretty much every day.

  • I've always thought they must be useful for cleaners.
Although I'd want a good quality inverter in the car so I can charge in-between jobs.

The Xiaomi Roborock range run perfectly happily by just pressing the Power/Start button.
You could also just bring a WiFi hotspot with you (or even hotspot your phone) to get the additional features like locating the robovac using the map feature if it gets stuck somewhere.

Definitely want something mid range, not completely bottom end, with a LIDAR so that it cleans methodically rather than just bouncing around the room randomly.

    • The problem with the hot spot is that I will be using multiple of them around the big sites think like huge campuses or buildings basically multiple locations.

And I don't have access to on site WiFi so either I get burner phones with cheap data or I just find one that work without the need for WiFi.

For home use I can definitely get ones with wish but for this specific work use I need one that doesn't need WiFi or Bluetooth just on off physical button operation.

Also I'll be bringing this to community halls for events and friends places for cleaning so for peace of mind and ease of use I want that offline capability I hope this makes more sense now given my use case scenario.

We are nearly up to the two year anniversary of your search for a robot vacuum. I've commissioned a robot vacuum shaped cake to mark the occasion.

    • Progress takes time. Glad to have you on the team.

Unfortunately this category of life has not been fully researched out yet and documented for others like me to see so hopefully this bold step into the unknown will produce some discovery.

      live long and prosper

  • If work is paying for it why not get work to buy a little hotspot too and plug it in next to the robot vac base station.

    • Work is not paying for it I'm just trying to improve my work life a little bit with some lazy luxuries.

Speaking from experience, I wouldn't say its worth it to get a cheap vacuum. I had one and the thing, since it didn't have cameras or lasers would just randomly move around. Its fine if you're just using it for a small space but for large houses etc, probably won't clean everything unless you run it a couple've times. I had a remote control one too which randomly started in the morning and was a pain to deal with. Ended up selling it to get a premium one which does the job now :)

    • I hear ya.. Well honestly it would still probably be better than me just calling it and leaving it until the next day.

It's mostly just so something is being done while I'm maybe browsing ozb at work or on the toilet lol.

No one is watching me work so it's not to look busy just to touch up some areas while I laze around haha.

Passive income no this is passive working :)

  • Update: I got one of those $20 ones from ebay.. Going to play with it at home.. If it doesn't work I'm just gonna put a led sensor light on it and have a new pet to patrol the nights and maybe keep the rats away.

    You guys can name it.

    Best name wins.

    • What is the robot vac for $20 you bought ??

      • Automatic Smart Robot Rechargeable Vacuum Cleaner Dry Wet Floor Mop Sweeping AU on eBay!

        Try not to laugh

        • You can't be serious!

          That'll be next to useless.
It'll just random clean, the suction will be next to nothing and it's so small, it'll run down its full charge covering the floor space of a bedroom.

          • @ESEMCE: I am not a smart man but I know what a good cheap price is

            • @AlienC: $20 for a toy you'll use once is expensive IMHO.

I am not a smart man but I know what a good cheap price is

It may seem that you know the price of everything but don't know the value of anything.
