  • people keep mentioning discounted giftcards, which is the best deal going atm for them?

  • What drill goes with this? Never owned power tools before, thought it might be good to start with this deal.

Most drill chucks can adapt to varying sizes of bits so you’ll be fine if you grab a standard off-the-shelf option like Ozito or Bosch etc.

  • +1

Not the lowest. Usually around $26-27

    • Is this any good? Surely at $25-30 for all you get seems pretty decent value

They're not excellent as in you can't just abuse them but for small jobs they work well.

      • I got this set a while back; it's fine for occasional use but the ratchet screwdriver has a pretty poor clutch/grip on bits and really can't handle too much torque (it feels you could break it if you twist hard enough).

The screwdriver/hex/socket bits are the kind that can deform and developed rounded edges from vigorous use.

The case is also a b*tch to take bits/parts in and out of mainly due to the really tight tolerances of the rubber collet holders that the bits slot into.

I have yet to try out the drill bits as I have much better ones but they look and feel about as cheap as everything else.

    Showing $60. Pass.

someone isnt a prime member then

  • Can it be used with ozito

    • Yes, all the bits will fit in Ozito drills

  • The telescopic magnet (old car aerial with a magnet on the end) in this kit is a lifesaver. Have used it multiple times to retrieve the unretrievable. Used it just this week when a tradie dropped his screwdriver bit straight down a floor waste.

  • +1

    It's dropped to $29.95 now!

    • Forget asking for a credit for the difference - flat no, no exceptions when I tried. "Just return it and repurchase"

  • Can some explain to a noob

    • the round ones on the left are for Drills (Hammer Drill or otherwise)
    • the hex shaped ones on the right are for Impact Drivers

Because I sometimes see drill/driver sets that are all hex shaped so I assume those cannot be used on Drills (i just bought the drill/driver combo and wondering why I would bother with the drill if I have the impact driver with drill bits… other than for Masonry)

Edit: ok I think I get it. These are regular driver bits but not impact rated, so while they could be used it's not recommended for heavy torque work.
