    • a clearance at discounted prices is a bargain.

    • what are you talking about champ? a deal is a deal regardless of if its on clearance?

Anyone touched / wear these before — trying to figure out if it causes itch for anyone?

    • +4

No itch, but it's very thin

    • +5

I have these. They're really smooth and comfortable. I like it much better than the Uniqlo regular wool ones that make me itch like crazy. Very good for the price I bought and even better at this price. They're thinner and slightly less comfortable than my Trenery Merino sweaters, but that one's like 3-4x the price.

    • Thanks @greatlamp @Kio - assuming it's thin but still keeping you guys warmer than a cotton sweater?

      • Compared to a cotton sweater of the same thickness or even slightly thicker it's warmer, but on very cold days I definitely still need to wear an outer layer.

  • Thanks @Kio will get one now :)

  • Thanks OP ..

Even though it says ‘machine washable’, it’ll last longer and maintain its appearance if you hand wash it with laundry detergent suitable for wool. It also helps to wash it sparingly since they’re so thin too.

Yes, that's correct. Merino is a very delicate fabric, but the good thing is that Merino has good antibacterial properties, so it takes a while until it stinks up. For sweaters, some people even wash them only once every season.

Hand wash them very gently and don't wring them. Lightly squeeze out the water, roll them up with a towel, and then lay them out to dry. Don't hang dry when wet, you'll stretch the fabric.

  • Good golf sweater

    I prefer tactlenecks

I bought these many years ago. Very thin. They had holes after one year or so. I was very disappointed with the quality….yes I know they are cheap but given that they are made in Japan, I assume their quality will be better than these jumpers.

    • +3

Is uniqlo made in Japan? thought it was mostly in cambodia and vietnam

  • +1

These don't last, definately don't tumble dry - they will have holes within months. Its a shame as the fit is good but the quality isn't there.

I wore a black one to a mates bday and was called Steve Jobs all night. Haven't worn it since.

    Only XL available.

    • ah, too small for us then

Only ever worth buying when things stack with CR/SB. These are 2000 yen in Japan.

  • Out of stock in all sizes and colours.

Definitely avoid these sweaters. I got one recently and developed holes within a couple uses. Thankfully was in the first month and was able to get a refund but I won’t be spending money on this again.

    • Similar experience with 2 Kathmandu Merino Wool tops. Looked & felt great.
But very thin! Holes developed after first wash (recommended delicates cycle, wool wash).

Strangely 2 short sleeved versions, worn more & in same wash - are fine. Material feels slightly thicker.

Didn't wear until cold weather. Too late for refund. Luckily only paid $15 after discounts. Still wear as thermal under clothes. But tiny holes are becoming bigger!
